Strip Me Of My Heart

Updated on August 5, 2017

When it came for me, I was ready

I bowed down, for the weight was immense,

It was intense as a roaring thunderstorm, the earth had dispensed,

Was this truly it, what I felt,

My chest tight like a belt,

My heart beating strong, and seemed never ending,

Fending off fears of another implode,

Waiting for my fate to show,

Would I receive this long awaited warmth,

Should I falter to a possible cessation to come,

Solitary is no predicament for a heart,

It should never be afar from love,

Or apart .....from where it was.
