Thank you to all the Fallen and the ones survived

Updated on August 30, 2012

Our Heroes

Source

There has been so many

So many fallen and gone

So many that has survived

To shelved this as a reminder

To trace the days of time

Of blood and guts and glory

Foretelling tomorrows rains

In its visible past

On this day we are startled

By the act of violence

That has been the history

Of the days to come

We are proud to salute you

The ones who fought endlessly

So we just might be free

You withstand the suns great face

And you gather a supplicant’s faith

We are proud to call you loved ones

Proud to call you friends

We salute you to no end

Although your days are numbered

You fight no matter what

Youth age and death

Your days may be short

Is not guaranteed

Beyond this land in crowded sands

Paths are lined with beggar’s hands

Those who seek you cannot find

Lasting comfort for our trouble minds

From her shores to shore

The land we love

You fight for freedom

NO matter what

You are our soldiers

That we love!

We are so proud

To call you friend!

THANK YOU ALL who gives their lives so we might be free!

I want to salute my father Retired Army Sargent 1st class Floyd Billy Brooks and my Husband retired Navy Chief Personnel man Coleman Langford. For their honorable service to their country so we might stay free.

God bless you all!

Debbie, truly a wonderful tribute! I thank you for it, and say that when us service members sacrifice our own personal lives to fight for something greater than ourselves, we do it knowingly and with pride. We take heart that we're doing what we can to make our country and families safe.

Debbie, a well deserved tribute to all the brave men and women, who are prepared to go and fight for their country. Sadly not all of them will return home.

Wouldn't it be something, if the human race could evolve to a state where there would be no need for wars?

A living presence for a moment in the battle to procure peace, terrible, immense, unseen, but the lines of force made the reception of sensory apparatus quiver, so that the air seemed to shake, waver and tremble...It was there for an instant, and with it came incredible peace and joy--it stamped its presence: the imprint--then it was gone. It's nameless, wordless, indescribable--there is no way to tell. Will it come again? Or does only the imprint remain, the brush of it's wings as it takes me away. The battle of war is over, death takes hold as I am died.
