the fore-seeable future

Updated on September 1, 2014

the first ten years of tin

do all the heavy lifting.

you can see the strain and bend

as hundreds of former/future selves

stack atop the roof, trying to get in,

trying to remain relevant.

but when the rain begins,

they disperse, let water

meet metal; the delicious din

cleans the confusion,

washes the dark

craven pauses.

after each storm the smell

of a new season approaches,

like the astral drift of

boat poets.
