The Girl Who Played With Fire
Stieg Larrson's Millennium Trilogy
The Girl Who Played With Fire: original, clever, enthralling, violent, this book is not to be missed. It will anger you, it will frustrate you, make you question your moral judgement - would you plot violent revenge or would you wait for the justice system to find out the real story, but when they are the ones against you, what choices would you make?
This book has graphic violence in it. It is certainly not for children. but to understand Lisbeth Salander and her anger and hatred towards people who abuse woman, that violence has to be mentioned. The book is brutal in parts and not intended to be light reading: it will in places repulse the reader with its brutal detail of abuse suffered by the troubled young girl who is haunted by the ghosts of her past, who has been used in a greater scale of things, more than what is written in her personal files which are hiding a deep government secret.

Buy the millenium Trilogy -Spoiler Alert
Do not read this book if you have not read The girl with the Dragon Tatoo.
If you have not read this book then I am afraid to tell you you must read it before opening the pages of a Girl who played with Fire.
Why? well the trilogy written by Stien Larsson has a deep story running through the first of his 2 books, and to understand the Who is Who, Why are they doing that, and who is this girl Lisbeth Salander that becomes hunted by the whole of the country, then you do need to be up to speed If you haven't I honestly think it would spoil reading The girl who Played with Fire, as the confusion would be too much. There are references to a case that Lisbeth Salander worked on in the first book, with Mikael Blomkvist, a forefront and controversial journalist, to understand their relationship.
When you begin to realise that there is more to Lisbeth than the exterior hardness she portrays, her life being dictated and haunted by events rather than her making her own life.
A genius computer hacker, and a rare talent for photographic memory.
How would you handle the whole country after you on a triple murder charge, follow Lisbeth and her "cyber" friend Mikael who is the only one to believe her innocence, and works to uncover the truth. Bringing back those memories that have haunted her past.

What did you think?
The girl who played with Fire the Film - on DVD
After watching the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I must see this after reading the book and I know I won't be disappointed, Salander is played by the half-Spanish Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, and is able to portray Lisbeths vulnerability, but with a fierceness. I definitely would not want to be on the wrong side of Salander. (Please note this is with English subtitles, there are rumours of a English version being made)
