The Journey Began With One Step

Updated on January 4, 2013

1 Year Anniversary

I have been thinking of quitting hubpages for a while, then i got this e mail and it really made me think about all the friends I made and the supporters of my work. This poem is for you. Thank You for all the love...

When it began...who would have knew

the time it went by, it really flew

The powers that be...they sent me a note,

Happy 1 year Anniversary...was what they wrote

The people , the poems...the stories told

the times we exchanged advice, it never got old

I tried to give Hubpages...all my best

sometimes I was great...sometimes I lost my zest

To my followers and supporters, I can't thank you enough

to try to list all of you ...would be very tough

My broken heart... was filled with strife

I wrote of love, I wrote of life

My journey began... with a step so small

In 12 months.. I grew so tall

So now my friends, my rhyming poetry was fun

I'm happy to have met you all...

But my time has come...and I might be done

For some it is joy,

for others...a sad thought

I don't know if i can go on..

but I could be bought !

Michael, I really hope and pray you have changed your mind about leaving Hub Pages. My God, you have so many people who get so Much, from reading your poetry. Aside from that, You are such a fine man, a sensitive poet, and so filled with love. Please Please Please reconsider? and if you Insist on following through with leaving, Please give me ways to reach you. You were one of the first people who made Hub Pages such a great experience. I value your friendship and miss seeing you name recently. Please stay in touch. Are you on Facebook yet?

This last year has been a tough one for me. I miss out in a lot that was going on here when my hubby and I were traveling for work. I just realized when I started to come back how long it had been since I had taken the time to write. I was so busy trying to catch up on everything else. Even now, as I read the words of others, I am finding my creativity slowly ebbing away. I had thought about walking away since I am trying to run a business, do crafting on the side, and traveling with work. But, I look back at the hard work I have done here, the friends I have made, and the new hubbers coming up the line, and I think to myself...this is my home away from home. No matter what I go through in my day to day life, I can come here and enjoy a few moments with friends, even learning a thing or two. You will be missed here if you decide to go. I wish you the best with whatever you chose to do. This is a beautiful poem you have written here. The little guy is adorable. Thanks for sharing it!

Oh yes I can relate my dear friend; a few months ago I had a little time away but oh how I missed everything after a while. There had been so much going on in my life;much of it tragically tying up loose ends which finally came to a head last December!!!

As I said slowly but surely I had to admit to myself just how much I was missing my friends;publishing my hubs;reading the hubs of others and the interaction;which in my mind is not to be found anywhere else. At least not to the same extent!!!

Eventually I returned and I can only describe it 'as coming home'!!!

I shall never leave again ;this is where I now stay.

There was most definitely a big gap in my life without HubPages.

I have to stress here that this was my own personal experience and where you are concerned Michael I know you would be so greatly missed ;please keep this in mind and here's hoping you also decide to stay.

Take care and here's wishing you a great weekend.

      Eddy.

Love this piece Michael it reminds me that we are all only human. We doubt ourselves and are only really happy with success. When I write something I really love and that gets good acclaim it gives me a boost, but I can always try to improve with my next poem or story.

Forward is the only way to go my friend and cleaner 3 is improving with every piece he writes. Hub-pages would be a sadder place without him. Your friend and fellow tryer............. Chris

Very well done Michael! You did the right thing not to quit Hubpages. Keep learning and keep sharing your thoughts to others!
