Top Retirement Planning Books

Updated on April 19, 2013

What to read when planning your retirement

A selection of top retirement planning books. Whether you're planning ahead, rapidly approaching retirement or already retired you'll find ideas here to help you make the most of your retirement.

I've included books on financial retirement planning and planning your retirement lifestyle as well as some alternative approaches to traditional retirement. If you've unexpectedly found yourself retired earlier than planned because of the recession then you'll find practical information here too.

My personal approach is to be careful with money and semi-retire while my kids are small, I probably won't completely retire for a very long time and I may even return to a career in the future. To come to my approach I did a lot of reading about how others approached retirement and planned retirement and borrowed bits here and there.

I've selected a range of different retirement books which either I've read or get lots of good reviews, and which represent a broad range of opinions and advice on retirement. Hopefully you'll find something that fits with your way of thinking.
