Toriko - Manga/Anime

Toriko is a Japanese manga series and soon has its anime version produced by Toei Animation. Its story is all about a gourmet hunter named Toriko that travels throughout the world with his bottomless stomach and big appetite. He travels to search the tastiest food imaginable in a savage world full of ferocious monsters and ingredients that supply the world's best restaurants. Toriko met Komatsu who has the potential of being the greatest chef and asks to be his combo partner. Together, Toriko and Komatsu tracks and defeats the tastiest and most dangerous animals with their bare hands.

The main characters are divided in:

  • Four Heavenly Kings
  • IGO
  • Bishokukai
  • Chefs

Four Heavenly Kings

also known as the four tag team, is the name given to the group of Toriko, Sunny, Coco, and Zebra. They are all powerful and trained by the IGO president Ichiryuu since they are child.


IGO stands for International Gourmet Organization is a global organization who is responsible for maintaining the gourmet age from criminals and dangerous animals. This organization is strictly following the Eight Gourmet Law, a strict set of laws that observe and maintain orders on gourmet age.


Is a criminal organization bent on stealing and poaching rare ingredients for their own benefit. This organization wants to control all of the world's ingredients and establish an empire. Their main goal is getting GOD, a divine ingredient that was discovered by Bishokuya Acacia 500 years ago.


Chefs are the cook in the world of Toriko that have high status (thy are more popular than clebrities in some way). Coco once said that these chefs exceed the popularity of poiticians, religious leaders and artists in the wold of toriko.
