underneath the layers

Updated on April 10, 2017

wave after wave

There came a point in my life where waves crashed down.

i felt as though I didn't stand a chance against this tsunami.

we sometimes lose ourselves before morning.

we sometimes don't even realize we've been taken out to sea.

its only when the salt water starts making you choke that you awaken.

you could choke for centuries.

you might think you'll never stop choking.

BUT YOU DO.

it takes patience.

it takes seeing and taking control of what happened long ago.

if takes letting go.

it takes being alone and learning how to forget.

amidst these fragile times you're reborn.

you may be sad.

it might take you howling at the moon with tears in your eyes.

it might take you wishing the moon had no effect on your emotions.

you might curse gravity and those rogue waves that follow.

BUT YOU OVERCOME THIS.

we all share scars.

let your scars empower you.

these scars may be visible or hidden beneath the surface.

these scars symbolize you've chosen to live your life.

dont let these scars devour you.

it is clear that time is told by feeling.

here in time we express ourselves.

here in time we learn and become.

This helps me to feel not alone in this journey of life. I know I am not alone, as The Lord is always with me, but we also need fellow-human beings in whom we can turn to, and find common ground.

      Hugs,

      Tamara
