O.K. I am cheating here. I don't have any direct connection with Ursula LeGuin. My wife worked at Barnes & Noble Book Store in her Portland, Oregon neighborhood for one year. During that time Ursula came in a couple times to autograph books.
For many years my Brit friend Ben Taylor listed Ursula as his favourite author and used her character names as internet handles. This lens is dedicated to Ged.
It was only recently I read her Earth Sea series. I enjoyed its unique style very much as well as the deep issues raised. I recommend her books to anyone who wants some solid thinking behind the action and adventure. Similar to Isaac Asimov, I believe.
