What They Told Me - An Original Poem by S

Updated on March 5, 2012

They told me I was nothing

That I would never be anything

When I had things I looked forward to doing

They told me they were nothing but pipe dreams

I chose not to give up

Even when they piled on the odds I still chose to sing

I looked at them and said I'll never quit

Just because you gave up on me

That doesn't mean I ever will

I know Spirit is here for me

And thats something all the pessimists and naysayers in the world can never steal

I alone know who I am and how I feel

So if you're a dreamer

Never let people tell you what you can or can't do

Because, above all, the real thing that's important

Is that you believe in you.

- S.

Thank you always exploring, I feel like dreams are the only thing that keep us alive. I feel that if anybody has a dream they should never give up on it, no matter the odds.
