you only meant well

Updated on June 17, 2011

there you were

in the darkened forest

only this time

you were hovering

blackness surrounding you

eyes locked on your toes

your mouth open

torn pieces of letters written

escape your throat

fluttering down

like some unnoticed butterflies

all my outstretched arms

that ever opened for you

distant memories

and all the tears you never cried

trickle steady

from your hollow eyes

the glitter that i sent you

in certain secret slumbers

pours from your shoes

like hour glass sand

giving the impression

that time matters

even though

the darkened forest escapes it

as everything you've ever over looked

rushes from you

i find myself wondering

if your day of judgement has come

then i remember

the safeness of where we are

just when i begin

to wonder why again

i remember

the forest always holds just what i need.

"The forest always holds just what I need." This is a peaceful conclusion to the reverie you weave.

...well your forest holds so much poetic depth and soulful mystery - that words will never run out on you - and neither will I ....

Memories can be painful...or just what you need. I love the part about hour glass sand giving the impression that time matters. great words, great poem.

I am in the forest and looking for the trees...wow...feel like a leaf, small and overwhelmed but in a familiar place... Great poetry. :)
