10 Spring Cleaning Tips

Updated on January 12, 2017

Follow these tips for effective cleaning

Make a checklist with all the cleaning activities

Don’t forget it is very important to make a plan because you don’t have to miss any part of your home. Try to involve the whole family in the cleaning so it will be faster and easier to finish it. Distribute the cleaning activities between the members of the family. Kids could clean their own rooms, your husband can help you with the kitchen and the bathroom.

Vacuum and wash

Vacuum and wash the rugs in every room. There is the highest concentration of allergens and mites. Walls and ceilings have high percent of house dust too. Pay attention to the furnishings and curtains. Wash the curtains and take the cushions outside and beat them to remove the dust.

Bookshelves dust

Bookshelves and wooden furniture are very important too. Take all the books and photo frames off the shelves and remove the whole dust. Don’t forget to wax the woodworks and wooden furniture for keeping them clean for more time. Try to remove some of the books and frames. They only catch dust and make your home apt to the allergies.

Clean the windows

You have to clean all the windows – inside and outside. I know it is the most unpleasant work to do but it is mandatory. Clean windows transmit more light and make your home shinier. Use warm water and a mild dishwashing liquid. And now one very useful tip: if want your guests to bang their heads on your invisible clean windows wipe dry them with old newspapers.

Pay attention in the kitchen

In the kitchen you have to pay attention to the mold and mildew. If you find musty steins remove them immediately. Don’t forget to defrost the freezer. Turn it off, remove the food and whip it with mix of backing soda and hot water. Wash the floor and don’t miss a corner. You don’t want to breed mice and cockroaches in your home.

Problems in the bathroom

In the bathrooms remove the mold. Because of the humidity you will find many musty steins. Clean it with 1 рart bleach tо 4 parts hot water. You have to clean the bathtub and sink very carefully and try not to miss any stein. If you work with chemical substances don’t forget to ventilate after cleaning.

Throw away the unnecessary

Spring is the symbol of the new beginning so try to throw away the clothes you don’t wear anymore. They just collect humidity and admit it but you will never wear them again. Old newspapers, magazines, school projects – you don’t need them in your house. Don’t collect junk if you want fresh and clean home.

Get your garden ready for spring

Spring cleaning is the time to awake your garden. First of all collect the autumn leaves and get your garden ready to grow. Dig the furrows and pot some seeds and don’t forget to trim the bushes. If you have garden furniture wash it well and if it is wooden you have to polish and wax it.

Time for changes

Changes are recommended! Change the place of the furniture. Place the dining table close to the windows for more light. You can read some feng shui book and try to arrange you home like it advice. You can also paint the walls in light and fresh colors.

Do it on your own or not do it on your own

When the whole house is clean you will feel very satisfied. Your home is fresh, clean and shiny. Now you can receive the Academy Award for cleaning 2013.
