Becoming a licensed real estate agent requires coursework that is concentrated and detailed. The nice thing is, venues that offer classes will cater to your schedule. Online classes offer 24/7 intervals, and real estate schools offer day, night and even weekend courses.

2: The State Exam:

Don’t feel badly if you don’t pass the state exam the first time—it’s not uncommon. For that reason, however, it’s a good idea to enroll in exam prep courses which are available via physical classrooms and online. One has the luxury of becoming acquainted with practice exams and even tricky questions, along with being provided with workbooks and licensed instructors. These prep classes typically take place over a 2-day period.

The average fee for taking the final exam is around $100 and a 2-hour test with 200 questions is the norm. Anymore, tests are computerized and you’ll be allowed to use a calculator. You’ll know whether or not you passed shortly after you finish the exam. Upon passing, your real estate license will be mailed to you within 3 to 6 weeks.

The Education Continues:

Once you have your license, your first big hurdle has been accomplished, but there are other major expectations waiting for you. You’ll need to remain up-to-date on your state’s continuing education and renewal requirements; and annual continuing-education credits will vary from state to state.
