5 Reasons to Buy a NuWave Pro Oven

Updated on October 18, 2014

NuWave Oven Pro Review

The Nu Wave Pro Oven saves time, money, and energy. It cooks evenly and quickly. No more worrying about thawing or over-cooking. Just let the magic of the NuWave Oven Pro do the work for you.

I want to share my experience of being skeptical then having the NuWave Oven Pro proven as a great product then actually taking the leap and buying it. I have no regrets. It is one of the best, functional appliances I own and use at least 4-5 times a week.

I am so pleased with it that I have bought the NuWave Oven Pro for my kids. It is great for one or two people or for a large gathering.

Before Buying a NuWave Oven Pro

I am one of those people who loves to watch the "As Seen on TV" infomercials, yet I hardly ever buy any of the products no matter how wonderful they seem. For several years I had watched the Nu Wave Pro Oven infomercial from beginning to end. I really thought the counter top oven would be a good deal.

My husband, on the other hand, is more skeptical. "Aw, those 'As Seen on TV' things never work. Hmmm, I wonder... This Nu Wave Pro Oven seemed to be a great deal with many features for baking and cooking.

Proof that the NuWave Oven Pro Works

I had some of my own questions, but I had a source to answer them. I visit my brother every summer in New York City. I had been out sightseeing all day, and I came back to his apartment, which only had one little window air conditioner. It was so nice to come in from the heat.

What hit me when I stepped into the hallway to his apartment was a wonderful aroma of garlic, onion, and green pepper that had been used to season some type of meat. It made me hungry. I noticed it got stronger as I went toward my brother's apartment.

I walked in to a nice, cool apartment that had this amazing culinary aroma. I go to the kitchen. My brother is lifting a beef roast from what I now know is a NuWave Oven Pro to a platter with vegetables. I was shocked. My brother doesn't cook. We get take out or go out when I come to visit. Plus, I knew he had only been home from work around 45 minutes to an hour.

He told me he was sick of take out and restaurant food and decided to try the NuWave Oven Pro. I was shocked. I said, "The only roast I saw was in your freezer when I got the ice cream out last night."

He said, "Yep, this is it. It's convection heat cooks it from frozen without thawing."

"No way!" I exclaim. "It isn't even hot in here." He explained that it fits on the counter and does not heat up the whole place like the regular oven.

So IT does work.

I Buy the NuWave Oven Pro

My husband is off on a business trip. I have watched the NuWave Oven Pro infomercial again. I am cruising the Internet, including my favorites and eBay. I come across the NuWave Oven Pro. Impulsively - really? It has taken me years to decide if I wanted one and then proof of actually seeing one in action and how great the food tasted. So, no, this was not an impulse buy. I wanted it and was not going to deny myself anymore. I made my clicks and purchased my NuWave Oven Pro.

When my husband came home, he looked at it sitting in the corner of our counter. "So, how much did you spend on that? $500?"

"No," I tell him, "I got a great deal on Amazon." Then I had to convince him it was a good buy.

Nu Wave Quick and Easy Guide
Nu Wave Quick and Easy Guide

1. NuWave Oven Pro Cooks from Frozen to Done in Less Time

Okay, I got my oven close to Thanksgiving. I had to see if that turkey deal was right. I was nervous because I was just beginning to prove to my husband that this NuWave was a great deal. I take out the "Quick and Easy Cooking Guide," which is a laminated sheet with directions for several types of meat (thawed and frozen) and vegetable. I take the frozen 14 pound bird out of the freezer. Put it on the one inch rack. Baste it with olive oil (usually you would baste a turkey with butter but it browns too quickly in the NuWave) and sea salt. Loosely cover it with tin foil. Put the cook time on 2 hours. Start it and walk away.

It actually took 5 hours to cook the turkey, but part of that was because like baking a turkey, I wanted to baste it. After 2 hours, I took the giblet bag and neck out. By that time they had thawed thoroughly then I basted it with olive oil. I then placed an apple, two cut celery sticks, and half a sweet onion in the crevice of the bird. I set it for two more hours.

When I came back, I basted it with butter. There was some residual olive oil, so I use it too. I set it for another hour. It was ready.

It is big enough to cook a 14 pound turkey, but small enough that it does take up unnecessary space

2. The NuWave Oven Pro Gives You More Oven and Cooking Space

While cooking the turkey, I was able to use my oven for other dishes, such as chocolate pecan pie and stuffing.

It takes so much time when you are only working with one oven. You have to wait for the turkey to cook before you can add anything else, especially if you are cooking for a big crowd.

The NuWave only takes up minor space on the your counter top. I use mine so often that I leave it on my counter, but it is small enough that you can store it easily.

It is great to not have to wait around for one dish before I can make another one. My meal is finished and served hot at the same time.

3. The NuWave Oven Pro Cooks the Whole Meal and is Dishwasher Safe

I love to put everything in the same pan so I don't have a lot of clean up. Call it lazy, but I am all about economical ways of getting around things. The NuWave is perfect for this type of cooking and cleaning. About half and hour to forty-five minutes ahead of the end of cooking a large roast (pork or beef) or a chicken, place your potatoes and other vegetables in a bowl shaped piece of aluminum foil and brush with butter or olive oil. Voila, meat and vegetables are ready for the table.

Plus, if you use a cooking or baking spray, the clean up is even easier. You can either wipe the pan, grill, and cover down with soap and hot water, rinse it, dry it, and put it away. What I love is that it all fits into the dishwasher, so you don't have to do any thing but put it in and turn on the dishwasher.

4. Anything That Can Go in the Regular Oven Will Go in the Nu Wave Oven

All your oven dishes can fit into the NuWave. It can be stoneware, stainless steel, or aluminum. You will not have to worry about anything exploding or catching fire like you would with the microwave. The Nu Wave also cooks your food evenly no matter what it is in, unlike microwave cooking that leaves some of your food hot and some cold. The Nu Wave leaves everything tender and melt-in-your-mouth wonderful.

5. NuWave Oven Pro is Cheaper than a Dual Oven

I used to want a dual oven. As you saw earlier in the article, my husband thought the NuWave was expensive, but it is not and very inexpensive when thinking of buy a dual oven. Dual ovens are awesome, but they are expensive, running in the thousands of dollars for a good one.

With your regular oven and the NuWave Oven Pro, you can get the same results as you do with a dual oven but for a much less expensive price tag. The NuWave also saves electricity, using minimal energy than your oven or a dual oven.

These were the reasons I gave my husband for buying the Nu Wave Pro Oven. I was also ready with, "And how much do you spend on golf each month?" Fortunately, I didn't have to pull out the big guns by going for his juggler (golf), but I was ready. At first he put his nose up at it, thinking it was an "As Seen On TV" scam - how wrong he was. Then I came home one night to a beautiful pork roast and vegetable dinner. He was very proud and enjoyed the ease of using the Nu Wave. He uses it all the time, which pleases me. A happy ending for all.

After getting your NuWave, unpack it immediately to make sure everything is there for your cooking needs. It comes with a pizza flipper and cutter, too.

Be sure you watch the instructional DVD that is included.

Finally, join the NuWave Cooking Club. There are a ton of new recipes and advice.

We bought the NuWave Oven and got a few extras. (Extra unit and blender items) You would think that with the cost it would include a tempered glass dome. Within a couple of uses we noticed a warping of the plastic dome lid. After a couple of months, the lid began to melt and bubble when used. NuWave replaced the oven lid and burner and we noticed within a few uses the lid began to warp again. Although it has saved time in the kitchen, it has been inconvenient and possibly dangerous due to the melting lid.

Thanks, Jeann! They are a marvel! I love using my stoneware and Corning Ware in it too. Anything that can go in the oven can go in the NuWave!! :-)

I am sold 1000%, I have had my oven and burner since Jan 2013. I use them most days several times a day. I hardly ever crank up the big stove and then only to get big cookie sheets in the oven. I love the convenience, the fact it doesn't heat up my kitchen and that I can cook from frozen among many other benefits like fast cooking. I have used mine as a dehydrator by making delicious beef jerky in the oven and I dried some fruit. I have canned on it with a hot water bath. Of course I have broiled, fried, baked and I don't know what else. These are the best products I have ever purchased online. They come with very nice cookbooks too to help you get started. The cookware that comes with it is Industrial Quality. You can use any oher cookware you have that a magnet will stick to the bottom of the pan. I have especially enjoyed getting out my cast iron I haven't been able to use for ages. I did the Buy One Get One and some days I have all four going. The BEST thing I have bought in years. I have a NuWave Monitor who has been very helpful with any questions I have had too.
