A Useful Trick to Making a Homemade Fabric Refresher and Room Spray

Updated on April 8, 2012

Home Made Fabric Refresher and Room Spray

As a mother of 3 I am always looking for easy and safe fixes for cleanliness and air freshness in my home. Having two little boys definitely raises the odor levels in the household, and I hate using chemicals when there are safer alternatives. This is an easy and natural recipe for freshening up your home in minutes.

Getting Started

All you will need for this recipe is:

  • Water
  • Baking Soda
  • Essential Oil of Preference
  • Spray Bottle
  • Small Cooking Pot

Add 2 cups of water to the pot, and then add 1/2 a cup of baking soda to the pot. Begin heating and stir until all the baking soda has dissolved. Remove from heat and add 5-8 drops of essential oils, stir well, allow to cool and pour into spray bottle!

Love making my own fresheners. I use a bunch of combinations of oils to create all sorts of scents. It's fun! I will note that some fabrics will stain when sprayed.
