Animals Play And Important Role In Helping Our Disabled Daughter

Updated on September 19, 2015

I think it is very important in our country that I say this. Raising a crippled child is not easy, but the love means so much to us.

Our nine cats play and important role in our home. You do not have to have nine cats, but the point I am getting at is that pets help families in healthy psychological ways.

Our large cat Boo is so much fun. Boo visits Becky, and during wonderful moments animals share with us, Becky is happy, and smiles at the funny things our cats do.

Sweet Pea rides on Becky's motorized wheelchair. She often sleeps near Becky. Our black, and white Eskimo cat is fat, and healthy , and has a beautiful pitch black, and white coat. He visits Becky.

Cats play, and gallop threw our house like a herd of wild horses sometimes. They do not harm anything.

When they are hungry we have eighteen eyes looking straight up at us. We keep food available for them all the time.

Keeping a clean house is work for us, but one small room is devoted strictly for our cats, and their needs. Four litter boxes are cleaned every day. We use a sheet of newspaper, about a cup of litter in each box, and sprinkle a little carpet deodorizer in them. Everything is cleaned with pine cleaners, a mop, and smells good when the task is finished.

Right by my side sleeps Missy every night. Missy is the oldest female we have. She has the priority position on the cat ladder in our home. Other cats respect her because she is very old, and was with us before all others.

Missy will lash out, but I understand her nature, and I am cautious with her moody ways. Still she adores me, and can not resist sleeping in the above corner beside my pillow near me .

Our cats love attention, and love giving it. Animals are well worth the modest investment it takes to care for them. I think having a pet is probably one of just a few things left in our world that we can enjoy inexpensively. You can have the most beautiful dog i the world for near nothing from and animal shelter, and receive unconditional abundant love because animals that are saved remember you when you save them. You could have the most beautiful loving cat that will be loyal to you from and animal shelter. You can also buy animals from pet shops, or make homes from pets that home owners provide. Animals are a big part of our lives so why not give them the respect they deserve. Dogs can be loyal, and so beautiful. Cats, and dogs can bring endless hours of pleasure. Remember that fresh clean water, and the kind of food they are supposed to eat plus you're wonderful love will bear you their lifetimes of happiness for you.

Pets like cats, and dogs cheer up elderly citizens in nursing homes. Most elderly citizens enjoy holding , or petting loveable cats, or dogs. It is a shame there are so many animal shelters filled with cats, and dogs because the animals make wonderful pets. We adopted a dog from and animal shelter. It turned out that it loved being near Becky. The dog's name was Jessie , and Jessie would also be very protective for Becky. Becky would pet Jessie with so much love, and I know in my heart that those moments that she loved Jessie meant less of Becky thinking about disabilities.

Jessie died a few years ago. She was loved like a family member, and she came from and animal shelter. We loved , and do love animals. I think animals everywhere are God's blessings to us.Animals are fun to watch, and to learn from them. Animals are as wonderful as the seasons in all our lives.

God Bless Everyone

Animals are more intuitive, compassionate, patient and loving than humans at times. They have it easy - they aren't bothered with human nature!

So glad Becky has plenty to keep her company and make her smile!

Great hub from one animal lover to another.

FAntabulous. So true. Over the years the animals have taught me how to act like them with others. I do not recommend it with strangers. But if we just breathe deep, let down any guard and try to show our love as unconditionally as a loving pet does --- Well we receive more than we give.
