Becky's Early Breakfast
Tuesday, February 8, 2011.
Becky went to bed early yesterday evening. This morning early at around 2:00 A.M. she wanted to get up. I felt restless. I also decided to get up so that Becky would not be in the living room alone. And because it is cold I wanted her to be warm so I also turned up the heaters, and stayed awake.
Joann went back to bed. It is quiet in the bedroom for her. She will get her rest. Later I will bring her a thyroid pill with a small glass of drink.
I asked Becky if she wanted some baked potatoes and ham. She said, "Yes."
I peeled three small potatoes, cut them up bite size, and baked them along with some ham in the microwave oven.
Becky moved her wheelchair closer to the kitchen table. I opened the microwave, removed the food, and put margarine on her potatoes. The bite sized food would be convenient for her to pick up with her fork. I moved the plate, and fork close to her, and kept a napkin nearby.
While Becky was eating I brewed a pot of coffee. I also fixed myself a small serving of ham with and egg. After I drank my coffee, and ate , and took my morning medicine I heated up a large cup of water for Becky's two packages of chocolate for her hot chocolate which contained small marshmallows. After I mixed it I waited for it to cool enough so that she would not burn her mouth. When she finished eating her breakfast I placed a straw in her hot chocolate and put it in front of her and on her tray for her to reach it.
When Becky finished drinking her hot chocolate I placed her cup in the sink and washed the dishes. I also found time earlier to feed Gray fox his chicken, and I opened the front door for Peanut to go outside to use the bathroom.
Peanut did not stay outside for long. At 29 degrees she wanted to come inside so I let her back in. Now she is sleeping on top of the living room television. Our cats have it made. Our cats have a good life. They eat out of clean dishes and get clean water regularly. And we try to give them a little bit of all the kind of food they need .
Gray Fox will eat a nice assortment of food. Peanut is not too particular. Missy is a dainty picker and eats very slow.Winny just likes to pester Joann. He taps her arm with his paw as if he wants something to eat, but as soon as you offer him food, or place it in a plate he moves it with a paw and looks at it, and leaves it. He will however eat a lot of dry cat food and can cat food.
We keep one spot on the refrigerator where can cat food can be saved that the cats do not finish eating. When you have nine cats you can not afford to throw away their food that they do not eat. I felt funny about saving their uneaten unfinished food, but I saved it, covered it up, put a note on it, and put it in the refrigerator.
When it was time to feed them again we simply added more food to what they did not finish, and they ate it all. I refrigerated their leftovers while their food was fresh so it would not be lying around the floor to get old.
I bought some tuna on a real good sale. Boo likes tuna. The cats wanted tuna. They were swarming around us like little lions. I opened four cans of the on sale tuna which cost about two dollars. It was a special treat for them, and they loved it. They love Mackerel, and Salmon too. I try to find the large cans of Mackerel for one dollar in our Dollar store. It is a large can and all the cats get to enjoy it, and I get to store some for later , and labeled.
I feel better today. I need to go to to sleep, but will wait for Joann to get up later. I just feel tired, and I think I need to take a potassium tablet.
Funny thing. I am fantasizing my Uncle Joe who died long ago. As I close my eyes I can see him coming in for a landing. He had large red wings and a black and red cape. Yesterday I dreamed weird stuff.
Television , and movies probably have a lot to do with what I dream about.
God Bless Everyone.
