Best Chiming Wall Clocks
Wall Clocks that Chime for a Hint of Nostalgia!
Are you looking to bring back some childhood memories with your home décor? Take a look at these best chiming wall clocks and see if that doesn't do the trick!
It was very common in years past that homes would have a clock that chimed the hour, half hour and quarter hour and then strike the time every hour. They were all key wound and set to the correct time regularly. The familiarity of those sounds was something that families could count on but they have sadly almost disappeared today.
However, all is not lost! If you want a chiming wall clock but don't want to wind it up every week, or suddenly find it has stopped, there are established names in the clock industry that make beautiful quartz clocks that run on battery.
Most have volume control and an auto-off feature for the night. Many are hand crafted and are well worth the price, but you can also find great cheaper clocks.
The chimes available on each clock can vary. Take a look at the ones I've featured here to see if you can find one chimes your favorite melody and that's within your budget, or take a look at all the top rated chiming wall clocks available on Amazon.
Contemporary Wall Chiming Clocks
You don't have to go extremely traditional with the look of the clock if you don't want to. In fact, you don't even have to have traditional chimes and a pendulum and can instead get a clock that plays other melodies!
For modern wall clocks with chimes, look for sleek and simple lines with brushed steel or aluminium and Arabic numerals instead of Roman numerals. You can stay moderate with a pendulum clock or go completely modern without. Pendulums in battery operated clocks are just decorative, and not needed for the clock to work but the sound quality can still be great.
Bulova Vision Black Wall Chime Clock
This 5 inch deep and 25.5 inch high rectangular clock features a white aluminum dial, black Roman numerals, polished silver rim and brushed aluminium pendulum. Rounding off the more modern look is the case which is finished in black satin wood.
The Westminster, Ave Maria, or Bim-Bam chimes sound out the hour. It runs on three AA batteries which are not included with your purchase.
Howard Miller Alvarez Wall Clocks with Chimes
Howard Miller is known for their high end clocks and it is little wonder why! The casing is made of a hardwood and black veneer.
It is a triple chime clock with the Westminster, Ave Maria and Bam-Bam chimes to choose from and can be set to chime either every quarter hour or just the hour. Other features include an automatic shut off for the night and volume control.

A clock can feature up to 30 different melodies grouped into themes that you can select depending on the season, like popular music, holiday music, etc. A melody plays once on the hour, every hour. All melodies can be auto-shut off for the night and their volumes can be controlled.
Joyful Land Clock in Brown Finish
This inexpensive best selling Rhythm Clocks model comes in a burl wood finish with Swarovski elements. There are 3 categories of 6 songs each - Classical, Christmas and Hymns, which do not play when the clock automatically shuts of chiming for the night. The tone of the chiming bells is beautiful and the volume can be adjusted.
If your budget is smaller, you can get a good Rhythm clock like the Joyful one above but without the reveal every hour. These clocks still have beautiful accents and play lovely tunes.
The higher end models can cost $300 or more and they feature moving parts on the face that reveal an even more intricate design underneath. The movement happens every hour while a melody plays.
Seiko Musical Wall Clocks
Seiko has their own range of musical movement clocks called Seiko Melodies. They feature either Swarovsky crystals or tiny LED lights and the pendulum is rotating instead of swinging. You can select from quite a few melody groups to play once every hour.
Seiko Melodies in Motion Musical Wall Clock with 18 Melodies
Whether you want Classic, Popular or Christmas melodies, this Special Collector's Edition from 2012 gives you that for a total of 18 melodies.
The center pendulum dial rotates continuously as the music plays, while the two figurines at the top rock back and forth with the small ring behind them rotating. The entire scene is sprinkled with Swarovsky crystals that twinkle when the light hits them. Small crystals at the bottom are always moving, so there's always something to catch your eye even in between the hourly movements.
All Seiko Melodies clocks have a demo button that allows you to show off the melodies when you have guests! They always have one or more moving parts on the face that are triggered at the same time as the melody.
You get complete control with an on/off switch and volume control, and because of an in-built light sensor, all movements and music turns off when the room becomes dark.
