Bosch Rotak 32 Electric Lawnmower for Garden

Having a lawnmower is very essential if you have a garden at your home to avoid growing of long grasses and weeds in your beautiful garden.

We bought our house about 6 months ago but weren't sure which lawnmower to buy for our garden as we never had experience about mowing grasses. So we waited for too long, like about 5 months, until summer was here and grasses and weeds started to cover our little garden giving it an ugly look. I didn't wanted to spend too much money on any lawnmower I buy because our garden is small and doesn't need much investment to keep it tidy. I, actually, was looking for mower that is efficient, and light to carry so I don't have to go through the trouble of lifting heavy mower every time I wanted to use it. Me and my husband did some research online and asked our neighbours too (who has similar size gardens like us- small to medium sized) what was the best Lawnmower to buy with affordable price, and their suggestion was Bosch Electric lawnmower to give garden a neat and tidy look. Hence, we bought it.

Easy to assemble the parts

Once I bought the machine, I was quickly able to assemble the parts within 10 minutes as the handle, two screws and the grass collector box were the only part that were separate, other parts came joined already in the carton we bought. So, I connected the handle to the machine using screwdriver and then attached the grass collection box by just simply lifting the opening in the front machine (see video- how easy it is to attach the grass collection box). The only part that was missing in the carton was the long cord, which I bought separately and was able to easily attach to the small sized cord that was in the machine. And that was about it.

Tips

  • For longer durability of the blade, do not use it when the lawn is damp.
  • To avoid putting unnecessary strain on the motor, cut your grasses regularly.

Easy to use

I used the machine as soon as I connected it. It was quite easy to start mowing our lawn as soon as I joined the line to power-cord, pressed the turn on switch and then pressed red hand pedal on the machine and started cutting. Broom Broom..the machine started working as soon I pushed the machine towards the tall grown grasses. Within 15 minutes all the tall grasses and the weeds growing for months were gone. It was really exciting to see it working so neatly.

The two red blades at the sides of its front was able to reach the edge and cut the grasses at the edges neatly. So, I didn't have to go through the trouble of cutting grasses separately with scissor. Along with all these, the grass collection box was large enough to carry decent amount of grass, so obviously we enjoyed less emptying hassle. Its lightweight made my job easy that made me love it. It is obviously a good replacement for a heavy mower if you have had one before.

Disconnecting the collection box was super easy too as I just flipped the button on the main machine and the collection box got loosen and I emptied the light box filled with grasses quickly (see video for how we emptied the box).

This machine can be set to the low, middle and high setting depending on the way you want the grass to look that, again, I found to be one of the cool option in the machine. I set it to low setting so I don't have to cut the grass too often.

Review

Bosch Rotak 32 electric lawnmower, designed for small garden, has done a good job in my garden by removing all the grasses that have been growing for about 5 months. Cutting performance is the main thing to look for in any lawnmower, with its steel blade this one did a neat job. Its lightweight made it more portable for me to carry it to use it in my garden as I cannot lift heavy objects. The good thing about using this machine was I was not tired after using it because it is light to push and cuts the grasses quickly too. Even an older person with frail hands can use this most comfortably that made me like it much more.

And, obviously, the light grass collection box made it easier to empty the box conveniently, which is another feature I enjoyed a lot.

One downside of this machine is that the grass collection box doesn't compact the grasses very well, so make sure that you empty it before it is too full otherwise grasses will start to fall down from the front of the machine. And, storage can be an issue too as only top of the handle folds down, the bottom of the machine, that is the grass collection box, stays in place, so it takes a bit of space while storing but that is not a big worry for me.

To conclude, I was looking for something simple and cheap that cuts the grown grasses neatly in my small garden and it did that job well, so I have no complaints.

Note: Bosch carton also comes with the offer of winning pound 10,000 if you register your product online. According to the website, the winner will be announced in 2015. However, this offer is only available to UK customers.
