Black Curtains Where To Buy Them

Updated on August 5, 2014

Where To Buy Black Curtains

One day at work I overheard a co-worker talking about how she was unable to find black curtains. Since we worked the night shift, sleep was hard to come by during the day. Especially in a sunny bedroom. There are curtains and blinds designed to keep out light but, they're not always as sleek and stylish as other colors

Her frustration led me to look for my own set of black curtains. At the time, I had all black furniture. I wanted to buy a pair for my living room.

My first stop was a linen store. I just knew they would carry black curtains! Much to my surprise, there was not one black curtain in site. I really wanted to cover those white apartment blinds so I went from store to store, with no luck.

I returned to work that Monday and asked that same coworker if she had any luck finding black curtains. She smiled and said “ Yes! I ordered them online ”. I never thought of looking online.

When it comes to decor and matching hard to find colors, online shopping is your best bet. Check out these cool looks, with black curtains below.

Cleaning Black Curtains

It’s very important to clean black curtains in cold water. Follow the instructions on the tag for information on how to get your curtains clean. Most are machine washable but, there are a few that may need dry cleaning. Be sure to check before purchasing.

The most gentle way to wash dark colored fabric, such as black curtain,s is with cold water and woolite as the detergent. It will help clean your curtains without dulling the color.

In between washes vacuum or pat away dust. Using the palm of your hand, you can shake dust loose and vacuum it up off of the floor.

Curtains can be refreshen with Fabrezze, or any other brand fabric deodorizer. It’s a good practice to gently wash curtains with the change of each season. This will keep down allergens due to dust.

Black Curtains for Your Decor

Black is a common color found in many homes. It matches a variety of colors and décor. When used in the bedroom it can be the accent color or used in a monochromatic design.

Sleek and stylish, black curtains offer a timeless look that can go from trend to trend.

The ever changing fashions always seem to include primary colors. In order to change the look of a room, simply add another color curtain to brighten up the black.

Perhaps, a white sheer curtain can be use in between to allow light in during the day light hours.
