Reclaim American Jobs - Buy American Coffee Refills - Keurig Verses Nescafe - Why Buy American

Updated on April 9, 2015

For the holiday gifts, the real coffee war is not between McDonald's and Starbucks, the real war is between Kuerig and Nescafe Dolce Gusto.

As the William Wrigley company can attest, it is the little things that can make allot of money or in this case, provide or take away allot of jobs.

What is the issue, the coffee is a product of France, not America. Yes, they have corporate headquarters here and are publicly traded but the box of coffee details: "Product of France."

What does this mean?

Nestle Brought Us Bottle Water - Now They Are Bringing Us French Coffee

Nestle is the same company who "sold" America on bottled water. Yes, they met the needs and demands of the consumer but the cost - the financial cost and the monetary cost to the American public.

Now they are attacking American jobs. Food needs to be provided by American firms. I don't want imported wine, I don't want imported food, I definitely don't need to support coffee that is a product of another country.

We need American jobs. We MUST start supporting American companies. We MUST buy American products to retain American jobs.

The Real Coffee War is Just Beginning

      Where D Bif,

I enjoy items from every country of the world. I also enjoy my family and my neighbors having jobs. IF I can change my spending habits and include more American made products in my routine and create jobs, I would much rather do this than have the politicians involved. I don't believe in protectionism, I believe in educated and knowledgeable consumers. Buying from a company who employs their Administration, Marketing and Distribution here in the US can make a difference to our fragile American economy. Supporting financially and celebrating companies who retain their corporate headquarters here in the United States can provide more corporate taxes.

Most importantly, Americans must realize we are living in a global environment. We cannot act as IF Americans are the center of the universe. This fact is no longer true. We must be cognizant that we are one of many and we must support our neighbors, actively search for a way to make contribution-whether it is supporting a competitive tax system, buying American made bubble gum or purchasing coffee and chocolate from companies who employ management staff in America.

You are absolutely correct! With the exception of a very rare few, ALL coffee machines are made in China.

The REAL MONEY MAKER is the manufacturer of the refills. Where the refills are made can make a big difference.

Like chocolate, coffee and gasoline, the raw product is primarily from overseas.

While the machine may be foreign made, the refills can be the most expensive part of our family budget. It is the refills that may help drive our US economy to include more jobs. A job created without a politician is an item of success for the American consumer and American worker.

How can we contribute to the US economy and increase the number of jobs? Buy from a firm who retains administrative staff, marketing staff and who pays US corporate taxes here in the United States. The items we buy that are most profitable and create jobs can be the "little items"-the refill items.

The title of this article implies you are going to compare these two items to help shoppers choose the best quality, not go off on yet another xenophobic rant against the French. What a waste of electrons!
