DIY household Cleaning and Insect Repellent
White vinegar has many uses for cleaning. It acts as a repellent for insects and odor as well.
With a spray bottle, mix vinegar and water to the potency you ate comfortable smelling. There is a slight reminance of vinegar scent that will remain after applying to surfaces or floors.
If you do not like harsh chemicals vinegar is the right substitute and used in many cultures as a cleaning secret.
Using vinegar in your daily routine will purify the air quality of your home as it absorbs odors that block fresh air.
If you have a problem with insects in your cabinets wiping them down with vinegar will help. This will prevent any need for pesticides in your food storage. If this alone does not satisfy the issue or there are other common household products you may already have on hand.
Cinnamon is used for many things. A common use is to repel insects.
During the beginning or the end of the season sprinkle cinnamon in the crevices of your home or in the doorways and window sills to prevent an infestation of ants.
Ants dislike the potency of cinnamon and their feelers go numb when breathed in.
Avoid killing ants, like spiders they send a signal upon death. Killing ants or squishing them will increase the level of infestation. Soldier ants will be sent to retrieve the carcass.
Sweep up the ants and dispose them outdoors.
