So...you've decided to decorate your kitchen in teapot style.

After months of thinking and deliberation you've finally decided to decorate your kitchen in tea pot style. You can't understand why it was so had to decide. You have this terrific set of collectible tea pots and an equally wondrous set of collectible tea cups and saucers. Why had it been so hard to decide of this style. The obvious answer was right in front of you. You love tea pots.

The answer to that was...you were thinking to hard. You were trying to look at all of the possibilities and missed the one that was perfect for you.

Now that you've settled on a tea pot kitchen what is the first thing you need to do? The first thing I would do is settle on a paint color that would blend in with, and showcase my collection of tea pot and cups. It's not as hard as you might think. A nice neutral color is most likely the smartest thing you could choose. Make sure it is one that you can live with for a while. Many people have white paint tinted with a color that they feel comfortable such as blue, green, yellow, etc. I know you've seen these color when looking at paint chips. Whatever color you choose make sure it will go with many other colors. When you decorate in tea pot style you will find you have a plethora of colors to work with.

Moving on to curtains

Now that you have decided on the paint color you need to move on to curtains. The first step is to choose the style of the curtains. I myself like valances with cafe curtains. You choose the style you most enjoy.

Now, are you going to purchase the curtains or make them yourself? What color do you wish them to be? Will you be looking for a tea pot print or looking for something that just catches you eye? There are many beautiful tea pot prints out there especially if you will be purchasing fabric and making them yourself. However you may decide that a tea pot print would be too much with all of the teapot placed around the room.

Now you can decorate the walls.

You've chosen the perfect color and painted the walls, and put up you curtains. Next step is to decorate with your teapots.

If you have a wide open wall you have the perfect place to dispay your precious teapots. You can put up little shelves along the wall and place a tea pot on each one. It will become the focal point of your kitchen. With them displayed in such a way you can enjoy them every day.

If you have a favorite tea set, the perfect place to display it would be on a table placed under your wall display.

If you are a little short on space, simply place a shelf above the kitchen window. Your teapots will make a lovely display and will be safe and out of the way.

Your teapots can also be displayed on a free counter top, on top of a microwave, and various other niches you find in a kitchen.

Teapot centerpiece

What kitchen table would be complete in a teapot kitchen without a teapot centerpiece? For this centerpiece you can choose one of your favorite teapots and either make the centerpiece yourself or find a decorator to make it for you.

Either choice gives you great freedom of color and style. The choice of the color of flowers and type of flowers is entirely up to you. Your centerpiece can either be bright and big or pastel and smaller in size. Simple or elaborate. If you find yourself having a hard time choosing style and color you might want to consider finding a designer, they have wonderful ideas and a great eye for color. You can find a designer in most craft and flower stores.

Would you ever consider decorating your kitchen in a teapot style?

I love the blue wall with teapots. I have a few teapots but mine aren't as pretty as the ones in your photos. Voted up and shared.

I like teapots and own one--a solid white one that I rarely use. You see, my hot beverage of choice is coffee, and one section of my kitchen is devoted to all things "coffee." When I drink tea, like many true southerners in the U.S., I drink it over ice with lemon.

However, I enjoyed the photos of your teapot collection. Also, using a teapot as a centerpiece holding flowers is a terrific idea. (I may do that with mine.)

I have a pitcher collection, but am contemplating selling it. I'm tired of dusting it!

      Voted Up and Interesting

Jaye, my beverage of choice is also coffee. I just love the look of teapots. My tea is sweet, cold and lemony. I'm with you on the dusting. I'm thinking of getting rid of a few of my things.

Teapots make lovely decorations and you've highlighted some pretty ways to use them. I have a couple of special ones displayed in our dining room, waiting to be given to granddaughters one day.

RTalloni, I have a teapot from China that my Uncle brought back years ago. Someday it will go to my oldest daughter who has inherited my love of them.
