Recycling For Money: Don't throw this away:

Updated on May 23, 2012

We collect coupons, save pennies, squeeze out all the toothpaste and throw money in the trash. There are lots of commonly discarded items we can recycle for money. We all need a little incentive besides saving the environment. Consult this list before you pitch!

  1. Most recycling centers will pay cash for plastic or glass bottles. Just call first.
  2. Batteries are a good source of cash, usually netting about 5 bucks for an average size one.
  3. Books can be sold for cash. Check out cash4books.net
  4. Cell phones and printer cartridges are accepted by ecycle group recycling.
  5. Digital cameras, game consoles, mp3 players and such can be sold to numerous sites online, such as Gazelle.
  6. Get a tax credit by donating your car, clothes, or furniture to places such as Goodwill
  7. Sell handmaid stuff on Etsy
  8. Video games can be traded or sold at Gamestop.
  9. Paper, bottles, and cans can be traded for coupons at RecycleBank.
  10. Once again cell phones can be sold at

So, save the environment and put some pennies in your piggy-bank.

    Thanks for publishing this.

I'm a huge metal recycling fan. I prefer to make my money from other people's trash if and when I am able.

I basically saw your hub in my stream due to Mr. Feenix's comment.

    Kevin,

Where, oh where, are you, my friend?

I hope the reason why you've been off the air is your contracting business has been going really well.

Anyway, I'm one of the ones around here, waiting to hear from you again.
