Best Kitchen Water Dispensers

Updated on November 3, 2010

Here are the five best water dispensers on the market today. Some of these are cold water dispensers, but some provide both hot and cold water.

The great advantage of having a water dispenser instead of keeping containers of water in the fridge is of course, simple convenience. Especially during the summer, most people need a ready supply of cold water, and using bottles is an awkward way of storing water.

They all do a great job of filtering water, and some of the powered ones will keep a large quantity of water cold, plus heat water quite quickly.

PUR DS-1800Z 2-Stage Water Dispenser

This PUR DS 2 stage water dispenser has a filter in it that reduces the chemicals and bad odor of faucet water. It has a narrow, sleek and practical design. You can keep it near the sink for easier refilling, or stack it inside the refrigerator nicely for the water to cool.

Its clear transparent design lets you see the water, so you know when it needs refilling. Furthermore, you will never have a problem as to when the filter needs to be changed because it has a gauge that indicates when it must be changed.

This is one of the best selling water dispensers almost 5 stars from more than 400 reviews and feedbacks on Amazon. However, most of them really wish it could hold more water. The design really lends it well to being kept in a refrigerator.

This ceramic water dispenser is absolutely Lead Free. It is not just functional and stylish but it is certified "lead free." It can hold 2.5 gallons which is about average for s typical family's needs.

One great thing about this design is that the porcelain resists chipping. And because of its size and materials made out of, it is dishwasher friendly, so you do not have to worry about cleaning it.

It just does not have a hot water feature, but if you are looking for a plain water dispenser, this is the best I have seen. This really works well for those who want cool, but not cold water and prefer to keep the dispenser on a counter rather than stored in the fridge. Although - you can keep it in there if you have enough room to spare. All in all a great quality product and I consider it value for money at less than $50. It will certainly outlast any plastic dispensers.

Avanti Hot and Cold Water Dispenser - White

This hot and cold water dispenser is made up of lightweight yet durable plastic. If you are looking for the typical hot and cold dispenser that comes in white and are refilled at the top, this is the best one I have seen.

It has a push button faucets for hot and cold water which are very modern looking and functional, and a child safety guard for the hot water. The switches really feel sturdy and durable which is a very good plus if you are worries about buying a plastic dispenser of this size.

Another great feature about this product is that the water reservoir is really large. Even if there is zero level water in your bottle, there is still at least a glass full of each both hot and cold water from the reservoir and the bottles are easy to replace.

If you are looking for a counter top cold water dispenser, this Avanti thermoelectric cold water dispenser is also a good choice. This is the type of water dispenser that is built to sit beside your sink. It holds standard size bottles (3 to 5 gallons).

This is really a nice piece of art if you are looking for a water dispenser to put in a small kitchen or on an office counter.

You can choose to have it dispense either room temperature or chilled water and I think this is probably the best value for money semi-professional dispenser. At less than $60 on Amazon - a very good buy. Maybe not the absolute top of the line, but still a great deal for the cost.
