Flesh Eating Slugs In The Garden

Updated on October 13, 2013

Horror in the garden.

Once again I encountered flesh eating slugs in the garden . The cats had killed a mouse and left it near the house. While the mouse was still warm I noticed it was being attacked by a ravenous flesh eating slug that was stationed on top of it feeding on the carcass. I had seen and taken pictures of this before. Now I guess it is more common that slugs eat animal flesh. So much for the theory that they are vegetarian creatures.

If you were to die laying on the ground in Oregon you might be eaten by slugs and if you happened to be lying on the grass alive and breathing you might also be attacked by these awful mollusks? If you plan on sunbathing in the grass in Oregon it is recommended that you soak your skin in salt before lying down because that could save you from a flesh eating slug attack or being killed by one of the 12 inch long slugs that slime their way around Oregon.

A day later there is a lot less mouse left after the slug attack.

After one day of being eaten by slugs this was all that was left of the mouse.
