Garden Planning

Plan your garden considering the bees and butterflies

I have many ideas and still trying to get into action with garden planning.
My garden has daisies from last season and had flowered throughout the winter that surprised me.

The garden is bare during the cold weather.

The summer gives the garden a new appearance.

I have some space for more flowers. The mint grows in most parts of the garden.

I have lavender closely planted to the Mint.

I realized the best idea is to have what flourishes most in the garden. Geraniums had grown well throughout the winter.

My idea of a better garden than last season is to plant more flowers in different stages.

That would help me have a fully flowered garden with all the pretty colored flowers.

A new landscape idea is in mind and I want to have a new design my thoughts are running wild and free.

I like the idea of planting flowers to attract bees, and butterflies another idea is to tame the weeds and use these plants in different parts of the garden. Certain weeds can be cultivated into lovely plants.

I have one kind of weed that is not easy to get rid of and can be trained to fit the garden landscapes.

Wild bush can also be trimmed to give your garden a nice feature

Some weeds in Croatia have become endangered.

I enjoy having a green garden or a colorful garden it allows for a better appearance.

My great interest in garden developed over time and each season I look forward to new planning.

I did have houseplants since I noticed my son has allergic issues, I gave up that thought of keeping any houseplants.

Green plants are valuable to the environment.

I still have to adapt to green plants they are simple to take care of but not there as yet.

I plan to buy some green plants to change the scenery but much later.

Some sort of creeper does help for shady spots.

Grapevines which provide us with shade it creeps over a metal stand and is an excellent idea for certain parts of the garden.

At the same time, we will have grapes that would hang down from the creeper.

The natural features make gardens so beautiful.

Rosemary grows widely in Croatia and we have many plants around my home.

I have seen people use Rosemary plants as a hedge.

The Rosemary plants grow very close together and are trimmed in straight edges to form a straight hedge.

I don't have ferns and would like to get some there is not much in the region where I live.

Miniature pine trees is a great thought, and are easy to maintain I have that too on my mind for making my garden really attractive.

The oak tree is messy in the winter. In the summer my favorite place to be during the hot days is under the big oak tree.

Our garden does not have any green turf patches. The grass grows mainly in the wild and around the houses close by there is no progress.

The ground has too much of stone and does not allow for such growth.

Trimming of the grass is simply done with a garden trimmer.

A lawn mower is not used because of the plentiful stone.

I prefer a garden to having many pot plants.

Working in a garden gives me great pleasure, and allows me to feel good at what I am doing. The time spent in the garden is appreciated more than when I have to water a pot plant.

Every person has their own opinions, and choices of plants, though not all kinds of gardening will suit every individual.

It is good to know what you want from gardening right from the start. From knowing you know where to start and what kinds of plants to have in all seasons.

For example, Protea is a South African plant and grows in sub-tropical climates. We tried to grow Pro-tea in Croatia.

It started off nicely until we added too much of growth powder it killed the little beauties.

The tall pom flowers I have are very pretty and are in all colors.

Gardening is not for everyone. I did not much interest in gardening. My new lifestyle allowed for that into my daily schedule.

Time spent in the garden is less-stressful and good pass time.

Some plants don't like too much of wet soil, and some plants enjoy the wet soil.

You can get plants that don't mind any soil to grow in.

This is what makes gardening so interesting. An opportunity to experiment with new garden ideas.

The new ideas come flowing to my mind and make me see how much I can do to make my garden attractive.

I have ornamental grass in small pots outside and was told this plant won't grow in cold weather.

I left it outside for the past winter and it is growing new shoots for the new season.

I did not trust that would happen but it is actually growing with good energy.

I looked around and found Bamboo plants growing in bushes, and would like to plant that in some parts of my garden.

Impatiens is another lovely plant that has beautiful flowers and lasts the whole summer. The seeds take a few days to come up and have quite thick stems.

I make sure my plants have enough sunshine as stated and provide water daily or on alternate days.

We have a spectacular view of Cypress trees, and of other different trees around us. I like Cypress trees they are tall and have a mysterious feature.

To have my own flowers is much easier than to have someone bring me flowers. The admiration of my garden shows me how much more worth it is for me to spend time there.

My free time is always less stressful.

The less demanding plants are simpler to have and take care of.

I dig around my plants give them the soil it requires and to make my garden look alive.

When I pick a red rose from my garden it makes me feel so good.

Flowers bring light and color to my life.

A flower grows with love and that you can't be blinded by.

Flowers always leaves you with a positive feeling.

You can't take away the color or the love of a flower you just got to let grow.

Don't ignore a flower once planted. It still needs your attention as love does in your life.

If you neglect the flower it would certainly die just like if you neglect love it will eventually fade.

A flower shows you sweet love so don't ignore that flower you planted for that season.

Great choices of gardening would show great results.

I don't have green fingers planting is another one of my experiments, and each season I am opened to new ideas.

It amazes me to watch the seed I had planted grow into a lively plant. I am happy to see a beautiful flower.

I am proud of my achievements in the garden and wish you are too.

The continuous process enlightens me deeply and often brings a smile to my face.

Don't pluck the petals of a flower you are destroying the natural beauty of what you had grown, or of what the flower holds.

When I plant a seed I enjoy watching how it forms into that specific flower.

It is such a wonder at heart to look at what I have developed.

Be creative in your garden

I've always wanted to be self sufficient and grow my own food, but my gardens have been dismal failures year after year for two decades now. I have officially given up. It's funny because I have studied gardening. I write good HUBS about it, and other people benefit from my knowledge, but it does me no good at all! :D

      Voted up and useful!

Hi. Thanks for this hub. In a tropical country like ours, it is much more difficult to maintain a garden with a lot of flowers except in Tagaytay or in Baguio City. We got to have plants that are heat resistant. Again, thanks for the information.

You are so fortunate to be patient in your gardening and to be willing to experiment. I had this little garden before with lavender flowers when we first bought our house 20 years ago. The flowers didn't last the summer. all my flowers have died, I'm seriously considering cacti.

Perhaps you can advise me: I have this bamboo tree, it seems to live in spite of me. However, it has grown very tall, and I don't like its height. It's one of those more costly bamboo trees so the leaves stay on top, and if I cut it to the right size there will be no leaves. And yet, if I give it a designed hair cut it will still be too tall. If I chop off the top, will the trunk naturally grow new leaves?

Forgive my ignorance, but your advice would be most appreciated.
