GreenPan: High Quality Environmentally-Friendly Cookware

Updated on August 20, 2011

Is it time for you to get new cookware? If you’re looking for high quality, modern cookware that is as easy to maintain as it is to cook with, be sure to check out the GreenPan collection, available exclusively from HSN and This unique nonstick cookware product line combines Thermolon™ non-stick technology with green features that even the most environmentally conscious home cooks will be happy about.

About GreenPan Cookware

The folks at HSN sent me a few pieces of GreenPan cookware to try for myself, and I couldn’t be happier with the product. It’s lightweight and easy to use and maintain – all of which are qualities that I value in cookware. I’ve used each piece several times and enjoyed terrific results cooking everything from stir-fried vegetables to casseroles to hamburger patties – and many other dishes.

The non-stick surface really works, making it easy to cook without added oil or butter and ensuring that clean-up is a breeze. The company’s marketing literature states that the non-stick surface won’t break down or wear over time. Since I’ve only had my set for a short while, I’ve not tested this claim extensively. However, it is true that I have not experienced any problems with flaking, peeling or scratching of the nonstick surface during the two months I’ve been using my GreenPan pots and pans on a fairly regular basis. With other brands of non-stick cookware that I have owned, I noticed problems right away – so this is a good sign!

Cooking with GreenPan

GreenPan cookware is quite versatile. You can use GreenPan cookware to prepare just about anything, including dishes that need to be cooked on the stove top as well as in the oven. The pots and pans in the product line offer high heat resistance and are safe for use with temperatures of up to 850 degrees. The lids are made from tempered glass and are safe for use in ovens up to a maximum of 420 degrees.

What Makes GreenPan Green?

Not only is the GreenPan cookware collection easy to use, the pieces are items that you can feel good about bringing into your home and using to prepare meals for your family. After all, GreenPan is the first non-stick cookware line that is completely free from Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) free.

Further, the Thermolon™ technology that makes GreenPan pots, pans and other items non-stick is manufactured without Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) and is manufactured in compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations.

Check Out GreenPan

I’m not the only one who has positive things to say about GreenPan cookware. The product line has the distinction of holding the Good Housekeeping seal of approval. It’s also formally endorsed by celebrity chef Todd English and entrepreneur Joy Mangano. Be sure to check out the product line for yourself if you're thinking about adding to your cookware collection.

It sounds like just what I need. I hope the prices come down a bit before I need to buy them.

This cookware sounds fabulous. That they are a green product makes them particularly attractive, I think. That, and that they can withstand oven temperatures as well. Thanks for sharing.
