Home Improvement Ideas - Storage Peg Board Under Stairways and More
For most of my life, my homes were larger than I could ever imagine. A full basement, a two car garage and space was not a concern. Then I met the man of my dreams who loves vintage and as a compromise we moved into a 1929 stone cape cod. I love my "new" vintage home but the storage is problematic. A partial basement, a garage with no attic storage combined with a roof line that offers nominal attic storage and we have a daily cry for space. So to this end, I started researching storage. Specifically what can I do with peg boards - in a creative and useful fashion. What can we do with that valuable space under the stairs. These two items are critical when you have a home that was not built for storage and space.
After researching the many options, I am no longer dismayed, I am energized. The options go on and on - as you will see. I especially like the offices that are customized under the stairs. They look like they work exceptionally well with a myriad of cubby holes to house the never ending paperwork of daily life.
If storage issues are your delimna in your household you have come to the right idea center.

Work Room Tool Organization and Creative Ideas
I was taught by my Grandmother - Goldie - that the basement should be neat and tidy. To this end, her basement floor was painted and sealed in grass green and the walls light yellow. So too, my basement is sealed albeit not in grass green, we choose a neutral. The walls are not as cheery as my Grandmothers, but they are an almond with a hint of Grandmother's yellow basement walls. Yet with all these colors, the key to the basement remains the organization. Having a place for everything and returning everything to its place is critical. To help us with this, check out these many inventive ideas.
Don't limit yourself just to the classic peg board. Take it to a new level and invest in a metal peg board or a the sleek and modern slate board.

Our Vintage Home Has a Work Room Closet
Our vintage home has not a pantry but a work room closet. Yes, you heard me correctly. The closet is cloaked in peg board from top to bottom. I will have to take a photo for this hub.
And then instead of under the stairs, the former owners had built in storage above the stairs so we have little cabinets all the way down the stairway. It rather reminds me of a boat with all the tiny cubicles for storage.
