How To Organize Your BluRay & DVD Storage Cabinet

Updated on March 20, 2011

There's A BluRay & DVD Storage Cabinet For All Your Discs

A DVD storage cabinet is the perfect means to store and organize your burgeoning collection of DVDs. The drawers or shelves of a DVD storage cabinet are constructed specifically for this purpose: to hold hundreds of DVDs. They are great for the new BluRay format too!

What most people don't realize is that a DVD storage cabinet can be used for purposes not intended by the manufacturer.

Your DVD Storage Cabinet Can Hold More Than Just Discs

A DVD storage cabinet can be used to house entertainment appliances such as DVD players, CD players and cable receivers. The size and height of each shelf is perfect to accommodate these components. Holes at the back of the cabinet allow space for various wires and cords to pass through making it easy to power your appliances.

The height of a DVD storage cabinet makes it a useful item to use as a TV stand. It's the perfect height to make movie viewing very comfortable.

DVD Storage Cabinet: For CDs, DVDs & BluRays

Whether you already have one CD rack or several CD racks for all your CD storage, you can double it all up as a DVD storage cabinet since the discs are the same size. Any CD storage cabinet can act as CD/DVD storage.

Those of us who love to collect media discs find that we need a CD DVD storage cabinet or in cases where the collection has gotten out of control, several CD DVD storage cabinets. When you're looking for a DVD media storage cabinet you might be well advised to select a large DVD storage cabinet as your collection will likely keep on growing.

Of course if you are trying to maintain backwards compatibility to your video collection, then a DVD VHS storage cabinet will keep your discs and tapes organized. If you're in an area where other people have access, or have kids, then a fine wooden DVD storage cabinet with the added feature of being a locking DVD storage cabinet will ensure that unwanted hands do not touch your discs.

There are many types of wood DVD storage cabinet available and you can certainly find one to suit your taste and budget.

A DVD Storage Cabinet Can Fit Your Decor

Your DVD storage cabinet can also be used as a display shelf for vases, photographs and other such items. You can still even use it as a DVD cabinet while displaying your vases, knick knacks or picture frames.

You can even use your DVD storage cabinet as an aquarium stand. If you choose to do so, make sure that the cabinet is sturdy enough to hold the weight of the tank when filled with water. It would be a disaster if the cabinet was to break.

A DVD storage cabinet can be used as a design element in your décor. It works great as a divider for large rooms by defining separate spaces or even allowing privacy from one room to another. When used as a divider your DVD storage cabinet makes a wonderful display case for each room.

Wow. Those cabinets hold a lot of DVDs. I remember when we had a large collection of VHS tapes and then...DVDs came out. Oops. Hopefully Blue Ray discs will stick around for a while. We like to store our DVDs in albums that look like photo albums almost. They're made by Bellagio Italia and look good on the shelf.
