New Face to Furniture Cleaning

The age of cleaning furniture only with hand is over. We can clean furniture scientifically. There are appliances to clean the sofa sets, chairs with upholstery, carpets, and car seats beautifully & scientifically with cleanliness. In the olden days we used to clean with our hands with a little soap & water but nowadays there have been tremendous changes.

There are special cleaning appliances & cleaning agencies meant for only cleaning purposes. These appliances are mainly bought into the market targeting the offices, hospitals, call centers etc. Nowadays in households also this is used frequently.

If we request the service of a  cleaning agencies, they will come to our homes & offices directly to clean the furniture. Even though many people buy this cleaning  machine at their homes for private use but do not use them regularly .Upholstery shampooing machine of Eureka Forbes, an Italian company Pony 300 are all available in the market.

How to Use Cleaning Machine For Cleaning Furnitures

To clean the furniture the upholstery shampooing machine will be useful. With this around three & half hours is required to clean a 3+1+1 sofa set which is completely upholstered. If the sofa is made of wood, then only two & half hour is required.

How To Use Upholstery Shampooing Machine ?

Below are the details of how to use it & the various precautions one has to take while using this machine.

  1. First the dust on the sofa to be cleaned is removed using a vacuum cleaner.
  2. Then for the foam & lather to come we use the foam generator on the sofa.
  3.  When we use this, a mixture of shampoo & water is formed.
  4. Then once the foam & lather is removed with the help of the machine the dirt on the sofa is gone & it will be as new as was when it was purchased.
  5. After this we should not use the sofa for around 4 hours.
  6. To avoid the smell of the cleaning mixture to spread around the room we can switch on the fan or we can open the doors & windows.
  7. When we clean using this machine it gives much better results than when we clean with our hands.
  8. When we clean it ourselves, there are chances of water seeping into the upholstery & spoiling the sponge.
  9. When we use the machine such a problem does not arise.

What Is The Difference Between Normal Vacuum Cleaner & Shampooing Machine

There is a difference between the normal vacuum cleaner & shampooing machine. The shampooing machine can be used as a vacuum cleaner & also can be used for shampoo foam cleaning. While the vacuum cleaner cleans the outside, since there is shampoo & foam in this machine it can clean the insides also. The nozzles used for both these purposes are different. We can use this machine to clean all types of upholsteries except cloth and on sponge that crumbles. All kinds of dirt except stains, black marks due to moisture & ball point ink can be removed using this machine.

Precautions Need While Cleaning

Sofa sets, beds, pillows, carpets should be cleaned at least once in six months. If not cleaned there are increased chances of allergy, spreading of bad stench that fills the room, asthma, and problems caused due to climate change.

While cleaning always keep the following things in mind:-

1. Make sure that the sponge in the upholstery does not crumble.
2. After cleaning the furniture should not be used for at least 4 hours. After cleaning the beds, do not fold them till they become dry.
3. This machine should not be used to clean the carpets made of coir.

Making New Furniture from OldOne...

We can change the position of the old furniture. Bamboo furniture that’s been used a lot can be moved to the verandah. Table used for storage can be used as a coffee table. We can cut off the top part of the old dining chairs & give bright colours to the remaining portions & use it as chairs for children. Every few years we can change our furniture & give our house a new ‘look’. We can use a new table cloth on old tables and cover up the problems.

Deciding the Cost of Cleaning

Half a liter of shampoo is only needed to clean a 3+1+1 sofa set. For this purpose there is special upholstery glossy shampoo available in the market. Besides there should be at least 10 liters of water available in the machine. The power required to run this machine is 1100 watts.

Besides sofa, this machine can be used to clean carpets, curtains, beds, pillows etc. You should not forget to open the doors & windows after cleaning. The usual cleaning charge for a wooden 3+1+1 sofa set is 15 $ & for an upholstery sofa set is 30 $.

This is actually a great Hub for me right now because I have a cat who tends to disrespect my sofa and I wasn't sure how to go about cleaning it in the best way without destroying my furniture (suede - any special care required?). Thanks!

SEO expert, will you be cleaning the furniture yourself? You have to be careful that you don't let the water seep in to the fabric too much- it can start to smell. This hub has some great tips but when it comes to the larger projects, I would bring it to an expert. By the way, have you ever seen sunshine cleaning? Reading this just made me think of all the not-so-fun cleaning jobs they ran into.
