How to Clean Your Stained Tupperware Containers

Updated on July 3, 2012

Spaghetti Night. Epic Dinner, epic mess when the leftovers are gone and there is a red ring around my tupperware containers. Orange and red looks good for dinner, not so much on a clean container. I'm not a neat freak, but those stains bug me. I tried a few solutions, but discovered that this one trick really works well!

To clean your tupperware and remove the stains:

  1. Fill container with 1/4 cup of bleach, water almost to the top, and a splash of dish washing soap.
  2. Microwave for about 45 seconds.
  3. Wash out the container when water temperature is manageable.
  4. Voila! Clean tupperware!

So how can I prevent this from happening? Is there a way to prevent the extra cleaning?

Use Non-stick spray on your tupperware before filling with your saucy food and you can prevent the red from sticking on your containers! It's easy and saves you a lot of work later!
