Decorating Your Apartment

Decorating your new apartment house should be pleasurable and satisfying. Many times we get caught up in price tags and small budgets leaving your decorating experience feeling more like an algebra quiz than a pleasurable rite of passage. Decorating with these helpful tips would help you in achieving the desired look well within your budget.

There are many ways to create a great space to your liking.

Starting Point

Always start with a small new item, say a shower curtain. The bathroom is as important a room in your home as any other. Simply hanging a brand new shower curtain with an elegant pattern can completely change the look of your bathroom. It also adds color, pattern and a crisp new feeling.

Plan It Right

Print out floor plans with room measurements to draw in your ideas. Your personal office or bedroom should have some space on hand for you to use as well. This is a great way to visualize the layout and shop smart.

You can draw in your new ideas whenever you come up with new great ideas. For instance, neutral color walls like white, tan, or gray are good options especially for a tiny budget. You can add amazing bold colorful pieces that you can change at any time.

Bid Adieu To The Oldies

Try recovering an old piece of furniture. Stools or ottomans are very easy pieces to work on.

You can go to an Indian sari fabric store online and select a great new bold silk pattern. All you usually need is the fabric and a staple gun to attach the new fabric to your old piece.

Check online listings to find awesome pieces of cloth that will change the look of your furniture totally. One man’s trash could be another’s treasure. A good place to search for these are flea markets or antique shops. You can search thousands of listings to find cool items that fit your personal style.

Curtains Galore

If there is one thing that can completely change the look of your home without affecting your budget, it is the curtains. Good looking drapes cost little, yet bring life and color to your walls like nothing else.

Try going ethnic and buy some reasonably priced, yet bright and colorful silk curtains. The famous Indian saris worn by Indian women double up beautifully as drapes and no one will be wiser. You can try out this unique idea that will set your apartment walls on fire.

Move It Around

Simply moving around your furniture can change the look entirely.

Try shifting your beds to a corner for a change, or moving your sitting room sofa into the living room.

Shift the dining table so it no longer sits square, and you will end up with a special look that your neighbors will envy. Use chairs instead of the sofa and vice versa. Then again, simply remove all the seating to have a comfy, ground level seating.

All you need is your imagination and a bit of initiative to give your home a complete new look. The requirement of good money comes much later.
