Interesting Coffee Tables: Interactive LED Light Coffee Table

Updated on August 19, 2009

That's right, it's time for another exciting edition of the Interesting Coffee Table Hub Series! Listen to the crowd folks, they are just aching to hear what kind of crazy coffee table ideas people have come up with this time. You just never know what the internet will produce. Thousands of creative minds, millions of readers, and a whole heap of free time have allowed for some of the zaniest activities to take place out here in cyberspace.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Interesting Coffee Table Hub Series let me explain a little bit. Basically this hub series centers around one of the most random topics I could think of and puts a little spin on it. I was sitting around the living room one day and thought to myself: You know, I should do a hub series but I don't know what it should be about. I looked around and saw my coffee table just sitting there begging to be showcased. So I started up a blog and began writing about coffee tables!

We've already shown a few interesting coffee tables here on Hubpages and you can find them through my hub profile or links found on the Hubs themselves. My personal favorite so far is the NES Game Controller Coffee Table but that's just because I'm a big fan of video games.

The LED Interactive Coffee Table

Today we're bringing you a really cool coffee table design. Some internet folks have outfitted a run of the mill glass coffee table with a massive LED panel. The circuitry is equipped with motion sensors so that whenever anyone puts anything on or near the table the lights will turn on in different spots. It really makes a cool interactive effect that I'm sure many of their guests have had fun playing with.

Unfortunately this particular coffee table probably isn't very easy to build at home. You'd have to really know how to configure the lighting mechanism to get that motion sensor quality. Though it would probably be easy to set up a light up or glow in the dark coffee table with just a few lights and a couple of basic switches the interactive LED panel makes things incredibly complicated. I don't know about you but I wouldn't really want something like this in my living room either. It would be distracting to say the least.

Send in your Coffee Table Ideas!

If you have an interesting coffee table at home that you would like to share please send me information about it or leave a comment about it on one of the Interesting Coffee Table Hubs. I'm always looking for a new and unique coffee table to talk about here on Hubpages and would jump at the chance to showcase one that hasn't been on the internet before.

Cool table, wonder what they'll think of next? How much time and effort did they put into something like this.

Nice table. Nowadays, LED lighting can be on any places. Even wearable items like tshirt or caps.
