Light Bulbs: Daylight or Soft White
Can you spot the color difference in the lighting? The pictures I have shown are the difference between the two. The yellow tinted one, is the most common light bulb bought in stores today. This bulb is also known as soft white. On every light bulb box, you will see the different types of bulbs. If you want the yellow tinted one, you are going to look for soft white. If you want the blue/white tinted color lighting, you are going to look for daylight. Lumens also are important, because the higher they are, the brighter your lighting will be.
Why does this bother our eyes so much? Well, the blue/white tinted lighting reminds me of winter. The yellow tinted lighting, reminds me of summer. If you end up purchasing the wrong bulbs you don't want, make sure you save your receipt. Some places even have different bulbs on display for you to test out. There are some bulbs that can dim down. These type of bulbs come in handy when you have a lamp fixture that has the option to turn the bulb completely on or dim it down. Keep this in mind when you purchase light bulbs.
I switched from soft white bulbs to daylight bulbs in my whole place. I love the difference it made. I can see things more clearly and it also make it seem more natural. When you have the yellowish compared to the white/blue bulbs next to each other, it doesn't look right. If you have just one room with a type of bulb and one room the other type of bulb, it really does mess with your eyes. A lot of people I know have asked me the difference between the two bulbs and I went to home depot and did some research. There are a lot of different types of bulbs out there, but in reality, it is all about saving money and what your eye sees. LED daylight bulbs are the best in my opinion.
