Fitting Instructions

Marble Fireplaces are easy to install if a few basic steps are followed and adhered to. The below article will guide you through the necessary steps needed to successfully install a marble fire surround.

Step 1: Check your walls and floor is level. This is critical as it will ensure that you do not have gaps in your fire surround once it is installed. If your wall is not level then you should be aware that you will have to use decorators cork and filler to hide the gap at the back of the fireplace columns.

Step 2: Clearly position where your fireplace hearth (base section of fireplace) and panel (section where fire is recessed) should be located. Mark this onto your chimney or wall

Step 3: Make a mixture of sand and cement that will be used to bed the hearth onto your floor. If you are fitting an electric fireplace, then the hearth could simply be placed on the floor and does not need to be laid on a bed of sand and cement. It is important to remember to never step on the hearth as it is hollow and may crack

Step 4: Stick the back panel to the wall. We recommend using simple tile adhesive to do this. If your fireplace has a large rebate (void) then the back panel will need to be packed away from the wall with suitable non combustible material.

Step 5: Screw the fireplace columns to the wall using the brackets enclosed. At Creative Fireplaces we supply all our fireplace with factory fitted hidden fixing brackets.

Step 6: Secure the fireplace mantle to the fire surround using conventional clear tile silicon
