Kitchen Designs and Ideas

The kitchen is the most important room of the house, where we look to inspire new food creations. It is essential that our kitchen is fully equipped and has the best layout possible in order to help us, making living, cleaning and cooking easier.

There are plenty of modern looks and designs which will complement any kitchen and below we have a look at some award-winning ideas.

The Kitchen Breakfast Bar

A breakfast bar is generally a bench-top which hangs over from a bench or kitchen island. With a great set of stools to compliment your breakfast bar, it will give your kitchen a modern feel and look. Having a breakfast bar in your kitchen will save you space as it will also provide you a place to sit and use your laptop, fill out paperwork or read a newspaper. It is also a popular place with the kids to sit and do their homework.

Roller Shutter Cupboard

A roller shutter cupboard is a great modern feature to have in your kitchen which will help you hide away your appliances and save space. The roller shutter cupboard is easy to slide up or down and can be used to blend in with the cabinets or match the kitchen appliances.

Pull-out Chopping Board

A hidden pull-out chopping board is a great feature to give you additional space in the kitchen. Quite often we look for a designated space to chop or prepare our food and this provides you with the best solution.

The Kitchen Splash-back

A splash-back can be installed in your kitchen as a stylish and inexpensive feature. The benefits of a splash-back is that it can be cut to size and you have a wide range of colours to choose from. It is a great alternative to wall tiles as it gives your kitchen a modern look and is very easy to maintain and clean.

Pull-out Pantry

The pull-out pantry is one of the best innovative kitchen designs to date. These pull-out drawers give you the best possible access to the grocery items in your pantry. The biggest advantage that this creative design offers, is that you are given full access to your pantry space which make it easier for you to keep everything neat and categorised.

Kitchen Drawers

Kitchen drawers are a better alternative to cabinet doors as they provide better access similarly to pull-out pantry. The old fashioned cabinets make you bend and reach in for items which are placed in the back part of the cabinet. This hassle can be avoided with kitchen drawers which roll out easily for your convenience.

The best advantage you have with a kitchen drawer is that it can be cleverly installed in smaller areas where a cabinet door would never be able to fit. There is a great example in the above photos.

Modernising Your Kitchen

These are all clever kitchen ideas to modernise your kitchen and give you the best accessibility possible. Having at least one of these features in your kitchen, you are certainly going to save time and space.

Hi gios, a very useful and informative article, I like the idea of a pull-out pantry, my kitchen is rather small so space is important.

      Thank you for this.
