History of the Depression Glass

Depression glass of varied colors like the pink depression glass bowls are one of the most popular collectibles. They are so-called because they were distributed in the United States around the time of the Great Depression, for free or at a very low price. A popular food company also thought of an advertising hype to include this piece of glassware in their food boxes, much to the consumer's delight. To entice customer to come to their business establishments, shop owners would hand these glasses out at the door. People got them for free by simply visiting a store. They did not even have to buy anything to get the glasses. Depression glasses were of low quality but that did not discourage people from collecting them since the early 1950s. Currently, it is quite difficult to find them, especially pink depression glass cherry, pink depression glass bowls and pink depression glass plates. Pink depression glass is collected by more people and command a higher price.

I got 1 case of HGSS and 1 case of unleashed when they were first reesaled. Both of those sets caused headaches and very non user friendly patterns. They seems to have 2-3 patterns combined into a single box in most cases. I actually had to open about 75% of the packs of each set to get all the expected primes/legends.
