Whirlpool A Trusted Name In Household Appliances.

I just love my new Whirlpool Top-Loading Washer! ( model No. WTW4800XQ2 ) I have owned it for three weeks now, and it works like a charm, and it is so quiet. My son works in a restaurant and of course his clothes are going to smell like food, and this washer does a great job cleaning them.

So let's talk about the washer itself.

Features:

This washer does not operate like older models. So lets take a look under the lid.

*** Sensing: The washer performs a series of spins that will check for load balance, when the load is started. It can take 2-3 minutes for the water to start to enter the washer basket. At this time, there will be a series of clicks and a whirring type of noise signal that sensing technology is determining if the load is off balanced.

*** Sounds: At different stages of the wash cycle, you will hear some sounds and pauses that are different than your old washer. You could hear a clicking sound and a hum at the start of the cycle, as the lid lock will go through a self test. There is going to be different kinds of humming and whirring sounds as the agitator test for the load balance, and can also move the load.

*** The Lid Lock: This is a feature I have not seen before on a washer. This will allow for higher spin speeds and the Lid Locked light will turn on. When the light is lit, the lid is locked and can't be opened, and when the light is blinking the washer is paused, and when the light is off, then the lid may be opened. The instruction manual will give you all the details about this feature.

*** Important Note: The washer will not operate if the lid is open. The washer will not start to fill with water until the lid is closed, locked and in the sensing process to complete. Also the Fabric Softener Added option must be selected, as "Yes" as to insure the fabric softener dispenses at the proper time.

Control Panel And Features:

*** The Load Size: You will select the the best setting for your load. Keep in mind if you pack the basket tight with clothes, it can lead to poor cleaning performance and wrinkling of the clothes.

*** Temperature Control: This will control the senses and maintain uniform water temperatures by regulating the incoming hot and cold water.

*** Options: This feature offers , Extra Rinse, Fabric Softener Added- Yes and Fabric Softener Added With Extra Rinse.

*** Wash Cycle Knob: You will use this knob to choose the cycle you will use for your load of laundry.

There are a lot of features to this washer, and I would love to list all of them, but I don't want to bore anyone, also you could never remember all of them. Anyway as I always say.. read the manual that comes with the appliance. It can be your best friend, as well as answer any questions that you have. I have to say that . with this washer the manual is very helpful and give you all the info that you need. Oh and I do have to mention that it is not a Push Button Machine, it is a dial machine. Which I like better, due to the fact that the button covers tend to crack and wear out. So if you are thinking about buying a new washer check out the Whirlpool Top- Loading Washer. I also bought the matching dryer to go with it, and will be reviewing that next. You won't be sorry. Thanks for reading my review!
