Review of Amazon Odds and Ends

Updated on July 7, 2016

Let me try these on for size...

I was very excited to be asked to try the Ska Studio shaper shorts, because let's be honest, who couldn't use a little extra sucking in! I saw other reviewers say that the shorts ran really small so I ordered 2 sizes up thinking that should be good. Boy, was I wrong! I would need at least 5x bigger than my normal size to fit into these. They are tight and probably slimming if you can pull them up over your hips. I couldn't get them over mine and I would bet most people could not either. If you are small enough to fit into these then you probably don't need them unless you are looking to smooth out problem areas.

I contacted the owner and he was really nice about it. He said he actually did have a size 5x bigger and that he would send them to me so I could review them but he never did.

A great travel buddy

I travel a lot, so when I was asked to review these beach clips from Tuggs I said YES! right away. These are a cool item to bring with you on vacation if you will be going to a beach or pool. It's a handy tool that doesn't take up much space at all. Each clip has a fun dragon head on it and the two clips are attached by a bungee like cord.

To use it, you pinch the heads of the dragons and the teeth on the clips open up and you can use it to secure your towel to the back of your chair. I tend to move around a lot and this helps keep my towel in place. We'll most likely get a few more for the other people in my family. I'd recommend this one!

DIY home sewing kit

I'm a crafter and an avid DIYer so I jumped at the chance to try out this cool sewing travel sewing kit from Sir Stitch! First of all, it has everything you could possibly need to fix up a hole in your pants, a missing button on your shirt or any other clothing malfunction you may face. It comes in a handy kit that zippers up and is easy to take around with you.

The only downside on this one is the cost. Almost $14 seems expensive... to me it feels like an $8.99 item but it is a great tool to have if your family is going away and you need to make some quick fixes to your clothes.

Feeling adventurous?

If you're a little adventurous then this dry pack from Pratico Outdoors is a great item to have handy. It holds up to 10lbs and will keep your items nice and dry. I wish we had this when we hiked in Hawaii! It would also be great on our boat (we plan to use it to keep our towels and clothes dry the next time we dive) and can even just make a good bag for walking around in the rain.

I didn't think I needed something like this in my life until I tried it, now I'm glad to have it handy when I need it. I think you will enjoy having it as well!

Handy Car Mount

This car mount from Sumsonic is a good idea in theory but does not execute that well. It comes in a beautiful box so you feel like you are getting a quality product right when you touch it. The box contains a lot of parts - more then you would think a car mount would have. It is confusing to figure out how to work it.

The other thing on this mount that I questioned is the sticky part that attached the mount to your car. I'm not comfortable putting an ultra sticky pad onto my car interior, I think it would be hard to clean when you finally take it down.

All in all, this one is a pass for me. I received this item for free in exchange for my honest review.
