Ready to redecorate your home?

Are you ready to redecorate your home? Or maybe you’re looking for affordable furnishings and décor for your very first home? Maybe you’re just wanting to find a few items to add some life to your own tiresome decorations. By simply adding a few items with color and style can perk things up and bring new life to a room you’ve grown tired of.

There are some excellent home decoration stores out there that offer stylish home decorations at decent prices. Physical as well as online stores can help you decorate your home in the style you like. This article looks at some of the most popular stores where you can find just the right touches for your re-decorating.

Kohl's

If you’ve gone into a Kohl’s department store, you know about the continual savings throughout the store. Kohl’s is a good choice for home decorations because of their continual sales. Kohl’s sells quality curtains and rugs, candles and wall hangings. I’ve bought decorative plates there, functional kitchen towels, and the cutest cat cookie jar you have ever seen! With a decent selection and deep savings, Kohl’s may be the place to find what you need.

Target

Target’s bright orange colors are indicative of the colorful items that you can find there for your home. Pillows and rugs, footstools and candlesticks—all in bright and varied colors to grace your home. Target carries lamps and picture frames from traditional to trendy styles. The store has a wide assortment of furniture in different colors and styles—and all very affordable. With just a few select items, you can add splashes of color to your current style for very little money. If you’re looking for colorful, practical, maybe a little bit funky, and definitely affordable, then Target is the place for you to find the items you need to spruce up your décor.

Home Decorating Company

This online store carries tons of items from furniture to decorations. Whether your style is traditional, contemporary, or totally modern, the Home Decorating Company has them all.

Stunning crystal vases and well-made grandfather clocks are just a part of their high quality styles. They have photo frames, decorative bowls, and rugs for every room in the house. Whether you are looking to decorate a child’s room or a formal living room, you will find items that fit what you’re looking for—all of very high quality.

Ikea

Ikea just has cool stuff. Their style is totally modern and totally fun. While Ikea may appeal more to a younger crowd with its hip and modern affordable furniture, the store has decorations that would appeal to the older shopper, too.

Besides some groovy furniture, Ikea has cool clocks, interesting vases and candle holders. Yes, some of their choices are a bit on the groovy side—but very cool.

They have potted plants, rugs—just a whole lot of fun and cool stuff. Check out the photo of the pendant lamp. It's only one of many pendant type chandeliers that Ikea offers.

T.J. Maxx

One of my personal favorites for home décor is T.J. Maxx. Sure, this store has tons of clothes to look through, but have you checked out their home décor and gift section? It’s a great place to find a gift in no time. And you probably won't be able to resist buying something for your own décor.

I’ve purchased several things there for my home, too. I’ve bought wall hangings, fancy photo frames, unique cat statues, and pillows. T.J. Maxx has small furniture items, curtains, rugs, and just all kinds of decorative items for any room of the house. This store is definitely a place to look when decorating your home.

Overstock

Overstock.com is a favorite for buying high quality, formerly expensive, gently used or never used decorative items. While Ikea focuses on the modern look, Overstock offers it all.

They have traditional high quality decorative items—pillows, clocks, knick knacks. Really, they have an amazing choice of whatever you would want. You really can get lost on that site looking through all the choices.

barbergirl--I've never heard of Ross's Dress for Less, but I do think Target has cool picture frames. Maybe I can find Ross's Dress for Less online! Thanks for the input. Much appreciated!

I am not a big shopper so when it comes to decorating my homes I find I live in a more bachelor pad type setting. That being said, a lot of my artwork on the wall is centered around pictures. But - that also means I have to find frames. I love shopping at Target for Home Décor because I like the style, however, my favorite place to shop for home décor is actually Ross's Dress for Less. Not only do they have great bargains, but they have unique stuff as well.

Me, too, Hyphenbird. I don't shop much since I'm frugal, too, but, when I need something, I love a great deal!

Effer, yeah, I know how you are! Takes one penny pincher to know one! Yes, we would have fun together! It might make me shop more, though. LOL I save more money by NOT shopping. That's my first tip. Then, when I DO shop, I visit great stores with deals like TJMaxx, Kohls, etc.... You're awesome. You would be a hoot to shop with!

I see that the majority loves Ikea. They do have a good selection of basic furniture. I prefer Kohl's for household items and linens. You have listed the top favorites with many families for saving and spending wisely. Voted up!

Great suggestions! I am always looking for ways to save money on home décor and have used a handful of these myself. Sometimes Michaels and Hobby Lobby have great deals on their home décor, particularly right after holidays.

Vee.....I love all of these stores...and usually, when I'm in the market for something, I will visit each one and look things over carefully and compare prices, of course. You know I belong to the penny pincher Club with you!! This all takes more time, but if you want to do this right, you wait until you have the time to spend going from store to store. It's really FUN, besides being frugal...

I love TJ Maxx.......for certain things.....Too bad we don't live close enough to each other, so we could shop together!! That would be beyond FUN!!..........UP++
