THE CHRISTMAS SQUIRREL
(More like a story than a poem.)
Ponza was a squirrel
who had a natural curl,
that was adored by every girl.
He was a cool squirrel,
with a pocket full of change,
that his fingers would rearange,
but his dog had mange.
Ponza loved Christmas,
so his chick Marie hugged him till Bliss-mas.
His mama asked him if he had any nuts.
Ponza said, " No mama, I gave all my nuts to Marie while loving up on her ."
Mama said, " You march upstairs right now to your room Ponza, and never ever say things like that to me ever again you nasty little squirrel , and go and wash your mouth out with soap , and wait for the plank ."
Ponza sadly moped , and lowered his head, and dragged his feet as he carried a bar of Palmolive soap with him to the upstairs bathroom sink to wash his mouth with it on Christmas eve, and he dropped his shorts so that his mama could wack him five hard licks on his behind with a thick plank. She did it, and it hurt,
until his main squeeze Marie cheered him up on Christmas day.
Marie gave Ponza a large hug , and a bag of walnuts for some holiday snacks.
Ponza said, " Mama just made me march up here to wash my mouth out with this junk Marie just because I gave you all of my nuts. "
How terrible of your mother to make you cry, and to upset you Ponza especially on Christmas because you gave me your finest nuts last night while watching a John Wayne movie," said Marie.
Ponza cried as Marie gave him the bag of Walnuts because he still had Palmolive soap left in his mouth. Marie said, " Those Hazelnuts you gave me were delicious in my cherry ice cream Panza. That was very darling, and sweet of you."
Ponza said, " Thank you Marie. Would you go downstairs to explain to my mama that I did not give you the kind of nuts that are used for a family to bring children into the world. Could you do that for me Marie ? "
" I don't know Ponza, maybe you better leave well enough alone before she tells you to stick more soap in your mouth ," said Marie.
God Bless Everyone
