Transform an Old Dresser

Updated on June 22, 2012

Once again my Husband brought home another diamond in the ruff.

This old dresser was crying for some attention!

Just some paint and love transformed this old thing into one of my most treasured pieces.

How I Did It

I took a gallon of brown paint i found in my garage and some white spray paint.

Instead of old sheets to paint on, I tend to use old cardboard boxes that i cut open flat. The paint can seep through the sheets. I also use the cardboard to wipe paint off my brushes or test paint colors.

After unscrewing the handles, I spray painted those white. The paint tends to drip so lay flat, let dry and then paint again.

I pulled the drawers out. Painted those.

Painted the actual dresser, with some help from my 4 year old.

After a little time watching paint dry...I screwed the handles back in and Voila!

Good job! I love to recycle and upcycle too whenever I get the chance. It is so gratifying. I look forward to reading more from you and seeing more of your upcycle crafts.
