Transform old wood pieces

Updated on June 22, 2012

So my husband works on forclosures and brought this gem home after a trash out and was planning on burning it during a 'sit around the fire pit and have a beer or two night'.

Luckily I saved it! I saw its potential.

One mans trash right?

What I Did

Basically, I painted it brown. Founf the can of paint in my gagrage from the previous owners.

I found a piece of fabric that matched the paint. It actually was an old shower curtain. (not the plastic liner but the decorative one you would put in front of it, that is very sturdy and easy to clean fabric and can be found on clearence a lot of times and can be cheaper than yards of fabric)

I took the fabric wrapped it around the top, flipped it over and used a staple gun to keep it in place along the lip of the top. So simple.
