A Treadmill Desk To Start Back To Health

If you are an Internet marketing specialist and spend seven days a week in front of a computer, them most likely like most of us, you stomach has swelled, and legs have atrophied from lack of use. Taking in carbs all day long while typing away will only make us morbidly obese that much quicker. A workstation treadmill desk is not the complete solution to a totally healthy lifestyle, but it is a great start towards getting back to where your body was before becoming chained to a sitting position for the majority of your life. Of course the new the new Trekdesk does not come with the actual treadmill, but for a couple of hundred dollars you can buy one off of Craigslist, instead making a several thousand dollar commitment to one of the newer models.

Looking through the offerings of companies like Amazon, it reveals that several other companies have also jumped on the workstation treadmill desk band wagon as well. Some will actually range in price near the seven to nine thousand dollar mark. Of course the more expensive treadmill's will include the treadmill itself, and a few other value added features to make it much easier to work while standing or walking.

Walking Treadmill Desk

If we move, and take action for most of our waking hours, our weight would never be an issue, and yes there are some with metabolisms that can do nothing all day and never gain an ounce. Those people may be able to eat a large pizza, and drink a six pack of beer seven days a week, but their health is still at risk without having a cardio program to keep their bodies strong, and working in a healthy way. Be sure and check with your family physician before taking on an eight hour a day treadmill desk marathon, as even if your able to perform this, your heart may need to build up to this type of activity in steps.

Treadmill Desk Workstation

People above forty tend to have a much harder time maintaining their normal BMI, and muscle density, and a treadmill desk workstation will at least slow down, and reverse the process of putting on pounds quickly. Richard Simmons, the workout guru of the 80s, always said to "keep moving", and keep moving eighty percent of the time to keep weight off. Humans were not meant to sit behind a desk everyday of theirs lives, we were meant to be hunter gatherers, like the birds, and the bears. This kept us fit as a race by physically striving for our sustenance in life, but as we became more intelligent, and invented ways to be more productive our physical bodies started suffering from lack of use daily.

JonSterling, do you actually own one of these? I want to know how adjustable they are. I'd like one for me, but then adjust it for my daughter, so I'm wondering how easy it is to adjust, do you know?

What a great idea. Now if I can have one built to go under my industrial sewing machine (table)I'm all there. I'm not so sure how straight my seams will be but this is definitely has potential.

      Thanks for sharing
