Unclogging a drain the easy way! Make money or save money?

Updated on June 15, 2012

My experience with Thrift drain cleaner

Having all this free time, i find myself thinking of ways to save money around the house and possibly make a few bucks with my ideas. I once worked for an apartment complex as a maintenance worker. It was there that I came across this awesome time saving drain cleaner. In the past I have had to use a drain snake, other liquid drain cleaners and have even had to replace pipes that were clogged.

I'm sure you know it's costly and very time consuming. I have tried liquid plumber and even a homemade concoction of vinegar and baking soda, not worth it! The product I use is Thrift and now they have a new look and name ( Thrift Marketing Insta-Flo Drain Cleaner) you can either order it through their website or Amazon.

Using it is really easy;

if your drains are slow, have clogged hair and buildup, etc.

First get safety equipment (goggles, gloves, mask, etc.) I don't use any safety equipment when using it, but then again I don't have the money to be buying extra stuff. If you don't wear some kind of mask, beware of the strong vapor when the crystals come in contact with the hot water. Now get some hot water ready... the more water the better. I use boiling water, but that's just me wanting to make it work right the first time. If you can run hot water through your faucet even better. Once you have the water nearby, pour some crystals from the container into the drain. Before pouring, be careful not to splash the hot water when pouring down the drain and make sure to cover your mouth. From my experience the vapors dry your throat, do not try to breath in the vapors.

You will know its working when you see the chemical reaction. Bubbles will form and it will look like a small volcano experiment with vinegar and baking soda.

DO NOT USE IN TOILET BOWL! Read instructions on label!

So what do you think? It is easy, but there are people who don't want to mess with chemicals, taking all these steps and precautions. Why call a plumber, or a plumbing company, save yourself some money!

Taking this into consideration, this can be my advantage, I charge about $50 to unclog a drain(s). So far it has been great! Not using a snake drain is GREAT! I think I found myself another money making idea. If I overlooked anything or if you have any questions please comment below, thanks!

How to use...Super easy!
