Under Cabinet Coffee Maker: A Small Kitchen Idea

Updated on September 28, 2011

Save Space with an Under Cabinet Coffee Maker

The majority of households contain a coffee drinker. Unfortunately, coffee makers take up a bit of space, and for many of us that space is already pretty limited. Whether you live in a small apartment, condo, an RV, or just have limited counter space in your kitchen, an under cabinet coffee maker can help you maximize the space you have.

Below you can find some of most popular models available and find some resources that will further help you deal with a small kitchen.

Dealing with a Small Kitchen

An under cabinet coffee maker is just a start. Kitchens are a functional area, a place where you work to prepare your food. They don't all have to be huge enough to host a party. However, even if you're cooking just for one, having enough space to maneuver and do the tasks that need to be done is critical. In some small kitchens, just having enough space for the necessary appliances and supplies can be a challenge.

Under cabinet appliances are especially useful in small kitchens. They allow you to keep the tools you need right where you need them but without taking up the limited counterspace you have available. Under cabinet coffee makers, can openers, toaster ovens, microwave ovens, and more are available.

When you have a small kitchen you also need to pay close attention to unused areas. Whether it's wall space, the ceiling, or wherever, it's important to make that space as functional as possible. Utensils can be hung under cabinets and above the countertop, ceiling racks can sometimes be used to suspend pots and pans. But, whatever you do, be sure to remove any unecessary items. If it's not used for cooking, you should seriously consider the value of having an item in your kitchen.

You don't want to overstuff things or have it cluttered, that only adds to the chaos that can occur in a small kitchen. That's where some good organizers and racks can come in to save the day. They let you use the space, but help to avoid the look of disarray. You can find some references below to get more ideas.

If you don't opt for an under cabinet coffee maker, can opener, and so forth, the other option, if you have the cabinet space to deal with it, is to avoid leaving those items out on the counter where you need space for food preparation.
