How to Use Feng Shui to Attract a New Lover or to Take a Relationship to the Next Level

Updated on November 16, 2015

Tips to Build Healthy, Happy, Long-Lasting Relationships Using the Ancient Art of Feng Shui

If your wish is to attract a new romantic partner into your life or take a casual relationship to the next level, Feng Shui can greatly assist you. To begin, clear your bedroom of any and all clutter. If you don’t need it, get rid of it.

Next, you will need to clear the area of old stale energies to make it more inviting for your romantic interest. You can do this by applying a new coat of paint; or with the financial crisis we are currently being faced with, a less expensive way to clear this negative energy is to open all windows and doors possible and burn some incense or sage to clear the area. You may also choose to ring a bell, clap your hands or shake a rattle around the room. All of these things assist in clearing an area of old energies, making it possible to create new, fresh, more positive energy in its absence.

Also, you will need to ensure there is enough space for your arriving partner. Make sure that dressers, cabinets, closets and shelves have room on or in them for your lover’s belongings as well as your own. Again, if you don’t need it, get rid of it! You will need to free up at least 1/3 of the space to accommodate their necessities. Upon freeing up enough space, light a red candle for romance and visualize this newly freed space as being filled with your lover’s belongings.

There are some things that you should never have or do in your bedroom that will litter the fresh energies you have worked so hard to place here. You should never exercise in this room or keep any workout or sports equipment therein. Doing so will clutter the room again with exertion and hard work. You do not want this in your romantic space, because it will make your relationship more like a workout. If you are currently in a relationship, move these items out of your love nest and you will soon see that your relationship runs along more smoothly.

If you have had a past relationship that has ended in this sacred space, you should remove anything that reminds you of this past love including photographs, old clothes, letters, cards, gifts that remind you and anything and everything else that allows that person to still remain a part of your life. As long as they are still there, you don’t have room for a new love in your home nor in your heart. It is one thing to be sentimental and a hopeless romantic, it’s another thing to store these items in a room where you will be intimate with someone else. This is disrespectful to the new lover and a hindrance to the relationship before it ever gets started. These items are roadblocks for future, healthier and more balanced relationships. Let the past go!

If there is a toilet in the southwest corner of your home, you are best advised to hang a five rod windchime above it. A toilet in the southwest corner can be very negative on your love life. However, the windchime will correct that for you. In the same aspect, if there are exposed beams in the southwest corner of your home or in your bedroom, you should hang tiny windchimes there as well. The rough edges of exposed beams create killing chi which the windchimes work to soften. You do not want water in the southeast corner as it may cause arguments.

Now, the time has come to activate the universal corner of romance, the southwest corner of your home and your bedroom. Use yellow, white and/or red lights to light up these corners and attract the energy of romance. The peony flower is a nice enhancement here as well, as it plays a huge role in the ancient art of Feng Shui. You should always have some peony in your bedroom. Other great additions include: natural quartz crystals, jasper and paintings of mountains. Keep the masculine and feminine elements in balance in these areas of your home to generate balanced energy within your relationship.

Do not decorate this space with aggressive, lonely, violent or otherwise damaging images that represent things that you do not want in your new relationship. Again, this includes workout and sports posters and paraphernalia.

Immediately repair any squeaky doors or loose doorknobs which act as blocks in the flow of positive energy. Make sure there is a clear path from your bedroom to the front door so valuable chi energy can flow freely. Add light to any dark or dingy areas along this path and replace any and all burned out light bulbs. In doing so you are creating positive energy which will be quite inviting to your new flame.

Be sure that one side of your bed is not against a wall. If this is the way your room is currently set up, you will need to do some rearranging to ensure equality in your relationship. A person who sleeps on the side of a bed that is blocked against a wall will not find equal enjoyment in the relationship, feeling confined and disempowered within the partnership. While the ideal placement of your bed is on the opposite side of the room as the door, you do not want it directly in front of the door. However, you should be able to see your door from the bed. If you cannot, you should hang a mirror so as to provide a reflected view of the door.

There are two crucial areas in your bedroom where you should place something beautiful and romantic. The wall facing the foot of your bed is one of these areas. The other is the entranceway of your room, the space you see as soon as you come through your bedroom door. In these areas you may wish to utilize flowers, artwork representative of romance and beauty, candles or pairs of items. A round mirror is a must have in some location in your bedroom as it promotes unity and completion.

These are all great ways to represent your intentions on building a happy and healthy relationship. Using Feng Shui is a wonderful way to instill happiness and, in essence, a bright, joyful future with your lover. A prospective partner will greatly appreciate your efforts toward building a peaceful, loving environment to share. Always remember that relationships require some effort to grow and prosper.

Feel the Love ;)

Another item that fits under the "decoration" category that work brilliantly in small apartments (I had the original in my new apt years ago) is a good poster. You can use the varieties of posters for your every room. Check it out at
