If you don't have enough files to warrant a filing cabinet and need easy access to them, then a file organizer is the way to go. Take it one step further and hang the organizer on a wall near your work space to keep your desk clear for your tasks.

Things to consider before buying a wall hanging file organizer
Home or Office?
The first thing to consider is whether you need a file holder for your home or office. Of course, it could also be for your home office! Generally, decorative wall file holders in metal or wood are better for the home because you don't want your storage pieces to look too utilitarian. You may not even need a regular file holder if a good magazine rack serves the purpose. For the office, go with a sleeker metal or plastic wall hanging organizer.
How Much Wall Space?
The second thing to consider is how much wall space you have for the holder. Don't fill up a wall just with storage organizers. If you intend to store lots of files, either get one big hanging file pocket organizer or several small ones to line up horizontally. It all depends on the layout of your room and other wall décor. If you have serious filing needs that hanging organizers can't handle, then consider getting a wheeled filing cabinet instead.
What Kind of Order?
The last thing to consider is how you want to organize your stuff. Separate compartments are nice when you have lots of things that need to be kept separate, but a single large slot is fine for only magazines or just a few files or letters. If you have a lot of heavy things to store, make sure the hardware provided will do the job.
