The primary purpose is enjoyment

My father used to plants flowers in his garden and decided to shift planting ornamental plants like banda khaki instead. He kept complaining that every time he plants daisies and other flowers, it dies. It was in the year 2000 when he started collecting these ornamental plants, most came from Davao City and Kabankalan City. When he had the chance to travel, he had the opportunity to discover some plants that are unknown and that gave him an excitement.

Obviously the ornamental plants purpose is to enjoy.

It's nice to have a coffee in the morning with your loved ones in your garden. Aside from the aroma smell of your coffee, you can smell the relaxing fragrances of ornamental plants. The rose and lavender for example.

Beautiful, Decorative and Attractive

These are ornamental plants. It adds beauty to our surroundings. These comes in different appearances, sizes and colors. It is perfect for landscaping. Most of these plants are decorated in restaurants, beach resorts and hotels and even in schools. It is also visible in banks and malls. Recently, the Lapu-Lapu has announced that the city is now to be called " The Historic Resort City because of it's beautiful beaches in Cebu. Aside from that they were busy painting the walls with the logos and we've seen men working on both sides of the roads are planting Kalachuchi or Desert Rose.

Plant It Temporarily in a Plastic Bag and Still It Will Grow

Can stay longer under the sun

Ornamental plants and trees can stay longer under the sun. Some plants like palm can survive without watering them for a week but not recommending you to do so. If you will take a vacation for a week and nobody left to take care of them, then no worries.Very easy to grow. You can just plant it on a broken container or in a plastic bag.

Cans survive a week without watering them

It gives fresh air

Air pollution is one of our biggest problems particularly in the city areas, unlike in the provinces, they maintained a clean and a peaceful environment. One of the contributors, are the ornamental plants. It takes carbon dioxide and releases OXYGEN which is very important for man's health.

We should always remember that we are still LUCKY enough to have a FREE air to breathe. everything now is costly. Just have a couple of pots first.

Nice hub... I collect coleus, they are my favorite ornamental. I have a few different varieties but it's always quite a challenge to get them to survive the winter. Still, they grow so fast and easy in the spring.
